Received a free copy in return for an honest review This was a quick and easy read that was not quite what I expected There was a lot less about the stalker than I thought there should be but the romance between these two friends was nicely done My main complaint would be the story would have been longer if the stalker aspect had been properly covered and I do love longer stories when they have intrigue or action in them Which this book unfortunately had a severe dearth of If you like friends to lovers stories and don t mind a stalker as a side dish then go and get this one but personally I prefer than I got even thought the romance aspect was very good Star Power Review of a copy provided by the author Even though this one involved BDSM which is so so NOT my thing I have to say it was still enjoyable. Adrien is a Hollywood star that s had a few mediocre films lately He wants to get his career back on track and he s relying on the advice of his agent Harrison to make it happen Adrien s closest confidante is Harry and he s been a bit smitten with him for years now but never made a move out of respect for Harry s consummate professionalism. Also Adrien s the subject of a stalker s gaze and has been receiving threatening letters discussing exactly how his admirer will dismember him while and after they have sex As Adrien s fear ramps up he bites the bullet and tells Harry of his secret desire It s a nice combination Harry s controlled and confident and Adrien s eager to please There s some great sexytimes as a result The stalker subplot got a little bit of short shrift I think It was rather on the side I thought which made the thriller climax with the stalker aspect a little abrupt That said the writing was smooth and the close bond that develops between Adrien and Harry is very lovely Star Power Actor Adrien Fury trusts his long time agent Harrison Langford implicitly and sure Adrien often wonders what Harry sounds like when he comes but he s got to be straight right But when Adrien s life is threatened by an unknown stalker everything becomes very clear Harry has been in love with Adrien since almost the first time he saw him and will stop at nothing to keep Adrien safe And Adrien soon realizes he and his heart are both safe with Harry. They must face a dangerous stalker before they can have their Hollywood ending After a few cinematic bombs lower his box office appeal actor Adrien Fury wants Harrison Langford to bring his career back to superstar status And if he could ever get him alone he d also love to know about his mysterious and handsome agent Harry has loved Adrien for years but has never revealed his feelings He keeps things professional between them and will do whatever it takes to make sure Adrien gets what he wants When increasingly disturbing letters show up at his agency threatening horrible things against the man he loves Harry vows to protect Adrien at all costs Adrien and Harry are on the verge of revealing their true feelings to each other when danger strikes Maybe they can share a lasting love If Adrien s stalker doesn t get to him first Please note This edition has been revised and significantly expanded for this release The original version was published in February of 2016 under the same title but with a different publisher Star Power is approximately 27500 words and is a standalone story with an HEA and no cliffhangers Contains scenes of mild BDSM Star PowerSweet short and sexy Star Power This was a decent 3 star book Adrien is a good guy apparently bad actor as of late anyway who is being stalked and trying to pull his career out of nosedive at the same time He goes as always to his rock Harry his agent who never steers him wrong though the guy can be a bit cold As the stalking gets close to home Harry hires bodyguards for Adrien and tells him to stay home Adrien gets cabin fever calls Harry and the two go out on the town and in the course of an evening at least I think it was they realize they are in love Well Adrien realizes he has come to love Harry over the course of time and Harry professes he s always loved Adrien Then some BDSM stuff happens that sort of feels out of place The two get together the stalker is revealed and alls well that ends well Adrien is a bit of an indecisive flake but he seems to be a good match for the apparently straight laced Harry who really kind of comes off as flat and bland I love the I ve always secretly loved you schtick although I didn t really feel it on this one There was a couple sexy moments of heat though and the author wrote the intimacy scenes not the BDSM with class I thought Great quick read Star Power This novella has a good premise A famous actor falls for his agent who fell for the actor years before but has hidden it Now when the actor is in danger being stalked by some psycho the agent decides to step into the light as it were and let his feelings be known The way it is presented however is fairly fluffy There is no real depth to the book and it never particularly grabbed me Adrien is in his late thirties but he acts like an ingenue while Harry is initially presented as something of an intimidating BDSM Dom but ends up with about as much intimidation factor as a puppy. The stalker becomes a part of the backstage scenery fairly quickly then makes a reappearance for the dramatic finish It is never developed into anything substantial and while the whodunit is definitely a surprise it isn t because of any reason one might expect which pulls some of the punch from it All in all it s an okay read but nothing spectacular Three stars as lists it it s okay ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review Reviewed by Cat from Alpha Book Club Star Power 3. 5 Adrien a famous actor has wanted his agent Harrison for as long as he can remember Harrison is one of the few people Adrien trusts but their relationship is strictly professional Harrison keeps his personal life private and Adrien doesn t even know if Harrison is gay Harrison has been in love with Adrien since their first meeting all those years ago but Adrien depends on him to manage his career and for Harrision Adrien always comes first When Adrien begins receiving threatening notes from a stalker Harrison will do everything in his power to protect the man he loves While there s a mystery element central to the plot the romance holds its own The mystery is a little muddled and rushed There is a red herring a fight at a jazz club this is Hollywood after all and a final confrontation in Harrison s office I really liked Harrison He s the strong and silent type and Adrien relies on him to make all the decisions Harrison is a Dom and there is a scene in the epilogue that involves whipping but the S M and D s elements aren t fleshed out or fully explored Since this is a novella approximately 1100 locations there is little relationship development on page I wanted to know about these men and the dynamic between them The ending is a HEA although not all loose ends are tied up Nothing is said about Adrien s career path for example Overall this is a quick read that held my interest Star Power Impetuous Adrien and reserved Harrison a match made in heaven or agency The premise was good stalker career resurrection and two men having steamy kinky times Well I loved Harrison The way he was in control and when that control finally snapped good times Adrien was too fickle for my taste and I didn t believe in his love and how suddenly it s sprung out of nowhere I wished the stalker angle was developed It was bombarded with bodyguards who it seemed at times were there only for show and to confuse things I enjoyed Harrison and Adrien together I think Harry brought out the best in Adrien The story was okay Star Power
