Kindle Paris jungle juice She also co founded boutique publishing house Velvet Morning Press Prior to jumping into the publishing world full time she spent than a decade as a journalist at news organizations including The AP and Bloomberg News Adria writes about her real life adventures at AdriaJCimino. Paris Jungle epubor Cimino tackled a touchy topic seldom addressed with realistic ease reading nonfiction than fiction The plot explores discrimination in its ugliest form as well as a detailed sketch of Wanda s turmoil and emotional rollercoaster as she struggles with sexism along with single motherhood not excluding her recent breakup. Paris Jungle booking Wanda is a woman of strength She s independent prideful and determined Attempting to balance career and motherhood she soon discovers its difficulties I must say I felt tremendous empathy towards Wanda as the story unravels it was difficult witnessing her stumble due to her own devices Luckily those closest to her expressed support and sound advice and she eventually discovers asking for help making tough decisions is not a sign of weakness No doubt Wanda is a character a majority of women will identify with as those juggling career and family strive to be superwoman tacking on much than necessary because asking for help is unimaginable for a multitude of reasons. Paris Jungle fictional character Striking me the most there was a fleeting moment when Wanda felt she must tolerate with her unacceptable and hostile work environment before it unraveled further given her situation as single parent I experienced the same thought when I was a corporate slave. Contemporary Paris jungle fever A gritty raw look examining discrimination with all certitude women will identify with on one level or another Cimino possess a gift with stellar characterization paired with a smart plot forcing the reader to suppose her writing style convincing English I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Library Thing Early reviewers The Creepshow A Novel is about Wanda Julienne a thirty something single mother Before she had her baby she was the perfect employee When she returned to work after having her baby her job became a nightmare Wanda has to endure discrimination and nasty sexual harassment Wanda is trapped because she can t afford to lose her job Her friend Galina and ex boyfriend Max try to offer support but it does not help Wanda withdraws from everybody and everything She gives up Until Galina tells her about a way out It is drastic but drastic times call for drastic measures. Paris jungler tier I gave this novel 5 stars because it exposes the nightmare many single moms face Trying to balance work and home life The fact that many of them are trapped in a workplace that has horrible discrimination Any working mom should read this book This book shows how awful this country treats working moms English I got totally caught up in this story and had to make myself put it down to get some work done I know it is unfair to compare a heroine to one elsewhere but I kept thinking of Edith in Downton Abbey talented competent and yet fearful especially fearful of being rejected by one s love Wanting to do it myself plagues so many women but it has to for many of us need to be able to stand on our own two feet before depending on a man Not every woman even in high flying finance is a self assured go getter adept at office politics and fly swatting sexual harassment How this all swirled around Wanda rang true and I was caught up in her complications and her unappreciated hard work I loved the tension build ups throughout most of the story but thought the last bit went by too fast and blurry I wanted to know as much about the outcome as I knew about the dilemmas Word choice got a little high falutin occasionally and Wanda sure cried an awful lot but Galina gave the ballast to this story of professional women s choices in life I enjoyed this book and look forward to from this author one who really knows how to tell stories English I won this book from a contest site and agreed to give it an honest review Although this is not a romance book it did address sexual harassment in the work force and how one brave woman handled it Wanda Julienne had just returned to work at Wilt Investment Services from maternity leave only to find that one of her co workers had fallen to her death out of a window a man coworker was singing in a loud voice and dancing in puddles in the library before he was taken away by guards and her client s funds were in a decline when Thomas had done the opposite of what she told him to do As a Senior Funds Manager she was proud that her clients had enough trust in her with their money only to have Thomas undo her hard work She stormed into her boss s office ignored his wandering eyes and demanded Thomas be reprimanded only her boss laughed it off and wanted to discuss it over drinks She was tired of him and his vague promises to play nice then her salary was cut for her evaluation on something Thomas did As a single mom she needed to protect feed and clothe her daughter but she would need to find a cheaper place to live in Paris She knew her best friend and her parents would help out but she guarded her independence she has doubts with her ex boyfriend Max the father of her baby and and trouble with her job and career Her life is spiraling out of control This is a great read as it covers many issues married and single mother s face when trying to have both a career and a family English As I started to read The Creepshow my first reaction was It s brave to write about this topic Then I wondered why I thought that And then I thought how come there aren t novels about this So I effectively answered my own question given the prevalence and nature of discrimination I think there must be a real challenge in writing about it in a way that convinces without sermonising So hat s off to Adria J Cimino because The Creepshow in my view really pulls it off She captures brilliantly the frustration the ongoing inner debate about what to do the outrageous behaviour that firms people seem to get away with This book is a great story in itself we love Wanda but it also took me back to some pretty uncomfortable times that I ve experienced at times in my career So a very enjoyable well written book but also an important one we need books like this English CREEPSHOW The new name Wanda gave her corporate job at Whilt Investment Services She needed to start letting her voice be heard Chaos was breaking loose Wanda was an overworked recruiter who kept to herself With long brown hair heels a designer bag she left her baby with the sitter for the first time Thomas took over her clients while she was on maternity leave and ran her accounts down 20% He then got a promotion just because he was a relative of corporate people The boss was making sexual advances at her and Elondie Clark committed suicide on work property Wanda was worried She had work stress boyfriend blues corporate politics extra work and less time Whilt Investment does not like women with babies or toddlers Wanda realizes through her coworkers women are punished by being given a heaver workload impossible goals discrimination not complying with sexual advances and getting fired for fighting back The New Year starts and she was feeling claustrophobic She was not meeting work goals so they issued her a pay cut She began teamwork with colleagues to sue the firm People did not want to get involved and the media got wind of the story Wanda had to rely on faith and good friends that good things would come and justice would be served Amid everything else her boyfriend shows back up in town He finds out she had their baby and never told him Stubborn and uncooperative she wants nothing to do with him or his money Max keeps trying but the attempts seem to be useless He makes one last attempt by seeking out help from Wanda s best friend This story involves a classic tale of corporate corruption A single mom returns from maternity leave to endure harassment and unethical practices for being a mom The writer incorporates Wanda s friends coworkers and boyfriend to add intertwining revolutionary relationships The proud moment is revealed when you realize Wanda stays diligent in her fight to seek justice I give the book four out of five stars and look forward to reading from this author I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review English It was happening right in front of her but since it didn t affect her she didn t see it Returning to work with Elodie s suicide still fresh on her mind Wanda finds her client s funds crumbling Thomas was left handling her funds while on leave but obviously he was incompetent and inexperienced as he couldn t even follow the directions that she left for him Frustrated at the work that lies ahead plus having to deal with returning to work Wanda knows it will take months to get her funds out of the red With no time to breathe Wanda is told her portfolio is being expanded with no mention of any benefits to compensate the additional work Wanda is frustrated Wanda is going in all directions She knew returning after her maturity leave would be hard but something else is different now at work While at home with her baby Wanda s thoughts wander back to work and when she is at work her demands become unachievable Too much is happening at work as management demands immediate results in her client s funds the new expanding job responsibilities in her portfolio are not in tune with what Wanda desires and Wanda is having a hard time adjusting to the pressures from her peers There are advancements within the company those only going to certain individuals who sport the label Mr before their names There is harassment and pressure this tension is set upon the other gender who works with the organization Wanda is feeling the blunt of it now her eyes are open and she doesn t know how to react and or whether if she should If that isn t enough to handle her baby s father has returned and she doesn t want that drama in her life now She doesn t need someone to feel sorry for her but she feels that she should really tell him that Nelly is his daughter. Paris Jungle bookworm Sexual harassment in the workplace does happen and Wanda experiences it firsthand You can play along with them as they utter their cute comments to you you can ignore them you can confront them you can turn them in or you can quit There are other many other scenarios that you can do but those are the ones that occurred in the office that I worked at There are many things to consider and Wanda had friends who were attorneys so she was able to get some legal counsel during her ordeal I have worked for attorney so watching this novel unfold was interesting and I enjoyed this legal aspect of it Watching Wanda s life change good and bad is part of life and I enjoyed the author s portrayal of that I was not fond of the way that Wanda treated Max Nelly s father There were times I wanted to reach inside the novel and shake Wanda a good shaking or screaming at her for acting the way she did I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review English First of all I want to say that it s really a shame that there is a reason that this book could be written to begin with that being saidI thought this book was well written and having been one of the first females in a pretty much male oriented industry I can say that these stories ring pretty true The author did a great job capturing that and I like how she took female victims and had them empower themselves I found this to be a great story and an entertaining read which I finished with several fist pumps in the air I sincerely recommend it as an enjoyable read. Paris Jungle booker Thanks to Velvet Morning Press for approving my request and to Net Galley for the free e galley in exchange for an honest review English This is the first book I have read by this author and I was very impressed This book tells the story of those who try and juggle a family and a job especially in the corporate world Though this book focuses on a woman and her issues she must deal with after returning from maternity leave I really feel this book can relate to anyone So many people are cornered in their work soloed out for whatever reason and some even harassed It is sad to know that it happens and that so frequently nothing is done about it but this book is a book of hope amidst the rot Our main character takes action makes steps and really makes them wish they hadn t discriminated her I enjoyed reading along as the main had changes take place in her life that meant her employers looked at her differently but she fought back This book was a lot about sexism and sexual harassment but as I mentioned I don t think it has to be just that nor does it have to be a women The fight she puts forth really showing those around her what she is worth her strength and that she knows what she deserves We should all do this no matter what age race creed sexuality or sex I just loved her strength and her will to stick out a fight that no one else had the balls to fight The story was excellent It progressed as one might expect but never made it too easy to guess what might happen next It also had a decent pace in which the story moved from one point of the fight and her life to the next I felt that the level of detail given to the story was really good It gave those who have never been in such a situation a chance to feel as though they were there and they understood Overall this was a really good read I look forward to reading from this author I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion English
