Another one bites the dust Maybe those prior Maynard books were just flukes Same disagreements and same dislikes as with any HQ Our MCs had a 2week long affair 4 months ago and our male MC has returned w his younger brother he will be our male MC in the 2nd book and they are trying to strong arm their 92yr old grandmother to return back to Scotland since her husband has passed and she no longer has much to support her in North Carolina But our female MC is a neighbor of the grandmother and could take care of her if the grandsons don t want to remain and wish to return to Scotland What we learn later is our female MC is 4 months pregnant ah ha and our bumbling A hole fool of a male MC is saying all the wrong things He will even actually try to strong arm her into a marriage and then proceeds to fuck that shit up in a major way Our female MC held off that marriage as long as she could.

Cate is looking for true love and Brody wants to do the right thing and take her of Cate and the baby but can he truly open his heart and love Cate I reading His Heir Her Secret I found myself in tears and for me it s a sign of a great book it was sexy funny and full of emotions Cate was a strong heroine and I loved how she really cared about Brody s grandma Isabel They had a close friendship and she wasn t afraid to speak her mind in order to help her friend stay at her home and not move to Scotland like her grandsons asked her to do. Their love story was fun to read They ve already gotten all the getting to know you things out of the way before the book begins as well as their first intimate encounters So what we get in this book is of the relationship building the foundation for their lives together I loved the way Brody cared for Cate knowing her favorite food helping her move etc and Cate listened to Brody in a way that I think he d been missing for a very long time.
