Cute and sweet story touching even Kindle Edition Has a lot of editing mistakes such as typos and missing and or incorrect punctuation Also there was barely any historical language at all mostly modern I personally was bothered by the racial terms used I understand that this was an interracial MM story based just after the Civil War but I feel as though the words cracker and colored could ve been left out or replaced with simply white and black The biggest problem with this story is the story itself The writing is severely disjointed and the storyline is vague Who exactly was Jasper and what was he clearly not human in order to be able to cast a spell on someone What was his reasoning And most disappointing was that despite the blurb mentioning Quincy having lost his heart and the story talking about him searching for the one who could see it I thought it meant he was looking to fall in love No it just means whoever sees it he has a one night stand with them Then the story ends Kindle Edition This short story taking place shortly after the Civil War has an interesting premise though doesn t feel quite like honest historical fiction The language for example is completely modern There are nopeculiarities of the language for the time period the F word is used a few times in relation to a sex act I can t believe that actually happened almost 200 years ago The white man at the center of the story doesn t really bat an eye when a black man is the person to claim his heart Again for the time period is this accurate I understand this is a short storybut a little consternation about the races would be correct And then there s the sex It sthere Not entirely detailed and leaves too much to the imagination.
