Book Chameleon soulmate 5 starsMy absolute pet hate is being vaguebooked hinting at some personal angst then going all coy when someone asks you about it has than a whiff of dramarama look at me about it and I have zero patience with that shit Just out with it or keep it private ffs but don t mention it then go all vague and evasive Unfortunately this book was the contemporary second chance romance form of vaguebook The prologue tells us up front that Raine has gone through some kind of ordeal and that as a result she s chosen to break up with the love of her life an F1 racing driver no less for his own sake We re well past the 75% point before we finally learn wtf that was all about and as most of the tension comes from Raine s ptsd style freakouts then I found it hard to sympathise with her or warm to her because I didn t know what was up Was she just being a drama queen I cannot lie I was kind of irritated for much of the book which did affect my enjoyment I m afraid I really wish I d felt tension from the second chance romance instead of trying to guess what her problem was. Chameleon Soul book Thanks to the author for the review copy Romance New Adult Contemporary I m a first time reader of this author and boy have I been missing out big time I FREAKIN LOVED Chameleon Soul a ton Raine Wilkins had a beautiful life with the man she loved until one fateful night destroyed it in an instant She walks out on Formula 1 driver Teo Coates life without explanation Little does he know she s shielding him from horrifying events that would affect his career so he walks away to finish his race season But she breaks both their hearts into pieces and on top of that she barely holds it together each day A year later he s back and he quickly figures out that there s to the story as she s nowhere close to the girl he left behind and he decides he s going to get to the bottom of it His return throws her into the spotlight and it s making things worse When Raine finally reveals the truth of that night will Teo stay or leave her for good This story is gut wrenching and nearly brought me to my knees while in the process of reading it The character development is great with secondaries that I loved just as much A fast paced heart pounding and well written flows effortlessly The chemistry is HOT leading to SMOKIN sexy scene goodness Mia Hoddell s talented writing style had me chompin at the bit early with twists and turns that kept my heart racing the whole time The next book can t come out soon enough for me so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Romance New Adult Contemporary Warning May contain things you find spoilery That wasn t intentional but read on at your own discretion I am a zombie Not four words I d normally begin a review with but true nonetheless Why Two reasons Reason One I am still awake at 3 40am writing my review Reason Two Mia Hoddell has ripped my heart out thus I must be dead Now we ve got that established let s get on to what I thought of the book I am not sure I have many coherent words to form sentences right now but let s give it a try. Chameleon soundcloud I am an emotional train wreck My heart has been torn out of my chest only to be replaced with the valves the wrong way round so it isn t working properly Why Oh so many reasons This book is the kind that pulls your heartstrings from the very first chapter I didn t know what to expect with the story twisting and turning this way and that I was all bent out of shape by Raine s obvious torment She s a broken empty shell of the person she once was Whereas before she had a bright future with a wonderful guy now she is but a shadow of her former self Nightmares that plague her dark alleyways that take her back to the night her life changed irreparably people taunting her and making her life a misery Teo was meant to be a race car driver It was all he wanted All except Raine that is The two loves of his life were his girl and fast cars Then one night his life changed One phone call put him on a path to near self destruction The only way to take his mind off things was to sleep with the grid girls in all the different countries he raced in But they could never full the void in his life where Raine was meant to be They were an easy lay a quick fix but not a permanent one Then race season finished and he found himself back on UK soil What followed was an emotional roller coaster for both him and Raine Teo didn t know the truth about the past all he knew was he d never stopped loving one girl Raine was living with Teo s brother Dustin who by the way is a wonderful character and it seemed fated that the two would run into each other at some point After all upon his return home Teo would want to see his brother What ensued was a beautifully written heart wrenching tale of love hurt loss and redemption Mia Hoddell s writing is beautiful in a breath taking way She has you gripped from the beginning and puts your heart through the wringer until the bitter end I was meant to be on the blog tour earlier this week but life got in the way and I had to reschedule Then last night I said I wouldn t be able to finish the book in time to write a review I hated myself for it because when I say I m going to do something I always see it through I d been reading all day and was only at 60% there was no way I would be finished in time Or was there What I didn t know was that I wouldn t be able to put the book back down until I had finished 3 15am I finally read the last word with tears blurring my vision and stinging like hell I was an absolute wreck Both because of staying up so late and because of all the pain Mia had put me through Raine and Teo s journey wasn t all rainbows and unicorns It wasn t some fantastical tale of boy meets girl boy keeps girl they live happily ever after Instead it was full of heartache and tears It s the kind of story that brings about a hell of a book hangover I m still typing at 4 00am because I couldn t wait until tomorrow to express how I felt The tumultuous journey this couple went through is something I won t forget in a hurry In summary Chameleon Soul is a hauntingly brilliant book that as an author myself makes me want to strive to be better I want to bring out the emotions in my readers that Mia did with me It was astoundingly written with a gripping story arc brilliant characters that felt tangible and real there was an instant connection to them and their lives I am left in awe Thank you to the blog tour organiser Amanda for giving me access to this remarkable story My heart may never function properly again but if I could rewind time I d live through it all again because some stories are just worth it This one was of them. Chameleon soulhub Even though the synopsis is written from the perspective of Teo much of the book comes from his girlfriend Raine I found Teo s story to be tied up in what happens to her There is some trauma in the story hinted at in the first few pages and the repercussions of it Because of how the story is constructed I felt much bonded to Teo s brother who is also her best friend can t wait to read his story He is the rock in the aftermath for Raine after her experience and the loss of Teo In fact I found myself disliking Teo much of the time because of his choices and behavior However this was my own perception of this character I m glad to say he redeemed himself in the end. Book Chameleon soul eater I think the difficult part for me was living through Raine s experience solely via flashbacks I understand the author s intent but it did cause a disconnect for me I think if I had a bit insight at the onset I would have understood Raine and her decisions a bit better Overall I liked the plot and all of the twists It was a unique storyline and I m interested to see where the author takes her characters next Romance New Adult Contemporary

Chameleon soulgame Raine Wilkins life changed forever over a year ago She once dated the now soon to be Formula 1 champion Teo Coates for 2 years then broke things off with him when something traumatic and devastating happened to her trying to protect Teo the only way she though she could Teo Coates is on break for 4 weeks from Formula 1 and is back in his home town when he bumps into Raine after a year apart Having spent the majority of that year trying to forget Raine the only way he knew how by using other women to forget her nothing could have prepared Teo for the feelings he tried to forget that all come rushing back Teo having been unaware for the actual reason for Raine breaking things off wants to get his answers now that he has her in his sights and nothing is going to get in his way of finding out what really caused Raine to break things off. Chameleon soulgeek Raine who is still struggling with the aftermath of what happened to her a year ago which is incredibly heartbreaking to read tries to stay away from Teo and not tell him what really happened but when you love someone that deeply you just can t leave them for the second time This is the first book of Mia s that I ve ever read and I have to say that I absolutely loved it Just from reading the prologue I was instantly hooked I devoured the book as quick as I could work got in the way of finishing quicker I know the inconvenience of my job Lol I loved Raine as a heroine no matter what she went through which was a lot she was so incredibly strong even if she didn t realise this herself sometimes and Teo sighs he was so incredibly sweet I had a constant goofy smile on my face from how much of a sweetheart he was I loved Raine and Dustin s relationship also they had such a strong amazing friendship that at times I felt a little jealous for how they were together I am also looking forward to seeing what happens in Dustin s book This book has it all in my opinion a second chance at romance which I love and the mystery of trying to figure out what happened to Raine that was so incredibly bad she was forced to end things with Teo in the first place My emotions were all over the place when reading this book which to me means I ve just read a freaking incredible book Romance New Adult Contemporary Talk about an unexpected gem of a book I was hooked from the very first sentence until the very last Chameleon Soul is the first book in the Chequered Flag Series by Mia Hoddell and if the other books are equally as good as this one it s gonna be one hell of a series Raine Wilkins was happy and in a loving relationship for over 2 years with Teo Coates an up and coming Formula 1 driver tipped for greatness and predicted to become World Champion unexpectedly leaves him offering no explanation Not only breaking his heart but her own in the process to shield him from the horrifying events that are best kept secret Left with no choice Teo is forced to leave Raine behind to complete his race season. Chameleon soulhiit Fast forward a year later and Teo is back and this time the only thing he is interested in winning is Raine but she s not the same girl he left behind She s a shell of her former self broken by the past struggling to cope each day Insufferable memories leave her nights tormented with fear while her days are spent deliberately hiding within her surroundings to go unnoticed to avoid triggering full blown panic attacks So when she learns of Teo s return to England her carefully developed strategies go out the window especially when Teo turns up demanding answers. Chameleon soulless blox In order for Raine and Teo to move forward and rekindle any sort of relationship they must confront their past the only problem with that is that only Raine knows the truth behind what happened that night that followed her ending their relationship Will revealing her secrets cause Teo to leave for good or fight for the girl he loves I really enjoyed this book the rawness and intricate emotions felt throughout made for an emotive read I was so engrossed in their journey that I couldn t help but feel the connection to them especially with how the author baits you the whole way through with regards to the events of that night and executes those details and emotions admirably I loved the intrigue I thought the progression of the plot was brilliant nothing was rushed nor was anything drawn out Overall a fantastic start to what I can only hope is going to be great series Oh and the fact that it was set in England was even better no offence to all you lovely American peeps but it made a refreshing change to read something by a British author and a story that was based in my homeland. EBook Chameleon soulja This is the first book I have ever read by Mia Hoddell prior to this I hadn t heard of her or any of her work which is quite annoying and something I intend to rectify I will definitely be looking into her other books. PDF Chameleon soulja The romance was the same On and off Raine was intent on having nothing to do with Teo but then said she loved him like 1 page later It all happened so fast I wish there had been a build up to them getting back together which would have fanned the flames of the romace a bit for me However maybe they were a good match because after Teo found out Raine s secrets he started to play games It took weeks of Raine trying to get Teo to talk to her but then they instantaneously got back together Lots of hot and cold. Chameleon Soul contemporary bathroom Ms Hoddell wrote Raine s character fabulously A young woman who endured a terrible night and therefore forced a love to separate shielding him from the pain and distraught the night brought her is plagued with fears She doesn t do dark and she doesn t do crowds Our first look at her panic comes when she rescues best friend and brother to the man who s heart she broke Dustin from a jail cell Her anxiety was written incredibly well and was only forgotten in the brief moments Dustin was making her laugh in the car but immediately upon returning home and having to leave the confinements of the car her anxiety returns. Chameleon soundcloud One of the things I found to be the best character decisions on Ms Hoddell s part was that as the story progressed as she allowed Teo back into her life Raine still held that fear The kind of fear Raine lives with isn t something that can be erased over night and I appreciated the fact that while we watched Raine grow strong she didn t completely lose that fear but her strength was a wonderful thing to witness.
