Liberty or death. EPub When the Guns Were Turned on usaa Also quite a few spelling mistakes Christopher McGarry I think it s a solid story which makes us thinking I would call it possible reality check and that could be scary Christopher McGarry When The Guns Were Turned On Us is a very realistic tale narrating to us the consequences of fascism and the horrors that innocents have to go through when faced with a tyrannical government All sorts of humanitarian rights are snatched away as limitless power tumbles into the hands of North American government We see the protagonist Jake fighting this system and trying to rescue his fianc e and her daughter from the hands of the autocracy The plot is quite engaging and the entire narrative is quite detailed.

When the guns were turned on usa what happens

I can t quite give it a 3maybe 2. When the Guns Were Turned on uskg 75 The storyline was interesting as the government has taken over our nation and a small band of rebels start to take it backa city at a time There was a pretty high body count of nameless State soldiers And I thought a somewhat strange mixture of somewhat thoughtful religious dialogue and rather blatant overuse of vulgar language There are in this series but it wasn t good enough for me to pursue any of it Christopher McGarry A fast paced and gripping dystopian tale where the horrors of war take place in The Republic of North America Gone are the days when the people of Canada and the United States watch the news thinking that war wouldn t happen again on their home soil The violence hunger loss of basic human rights casual violence against women and the unending pressure of fear has gripped the former sovereign countries as the United Nations and a dictatorial leader crushes their hopes and dreams. When the guns were turned on us pdf read online What happens when your plans of a quiet retirement a sparkling new future or your ability to speak freely about society is taken away by a new regime In When the Guns Were Turned on Us the first book of the North American Empire series graphic and well researched with vivid characters You find yourself in the middle of the action alongside Jake trying to save Nicole and Arielle and as the book progresses you get chills from the stark reality of an authoritarian government An absolutely gripping political thriller Christopher McGarry In the tradition of dystopian stories by James Wesley Rawles and Suzanne Collins When the Guns Were Turned On Us brings home the horrors of war and state oppression to the doorsteps of ordinary North American citizens What if you awoke one morning face to face with your most unthinkable nightmare Your city has been taken over by cold blooded foreign soldiers and domestic militarized police who will not hesitate to enslave and kill you All of the rights you believed you had are a relic of history War and bloodshed have been part of Jake Scribner s life since he was 18 years old and he has grown weary of it The American Northwest is placed under martial law As thousands of citizens including his fianc Nicole are rounded up and detained the retired air force combat controller is forced to dig out his elite fighting skills An asymmetrical cat and mouse guerrilla conflict ensues as Jake and a small though dedicated band of freedom fighters battle relentlessly to liberate the area and rescue their loved ones Liberty or death When the Guns Were Turned on Us North American Empire 1 I received a free copy of this book through BookTasters I am providing my honest opinion voluntarily. When the Guns Were Turned on Us epublishing As a dystopian novel this book did a great job of painting a rather scary picture of what I hope to never see firsthand Although I guess that s true of all dystopian books It s definitely a terrifying genre to read too much of at a time The premise was an interesting one and I liked how the plot came together There were a few different plot lines but they came together at the end of the book I especially liked that there was a good sense of closure to the book even though it s the first book in a series It left me with the feeling that this could work as a standalone novel as well as a jump off for a series There was a lot of action throughout the book and I liked the reference to Tuvia Bielski the leader of a Jewish partisan group who set up a refuge during the Holocaust For the record since I m an American and we seem to be THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD that measures in degrees feet inches only I was confused as to why distance was measured in meters but the depth of a hole that was dug was measured in feet I m genuinely confused and not judging here Can anyone in Canada help me understand this concept There were some negative aspects of the book as well For me the biggest issue was that most pages had spelling and grammar errors A few errors are to be expected from any book but when nearly every page has such basic mistakes it started to detract from my enjoyment of the book There was a ton of technical knowledge about weapons military vehicles and helicopters and most of it wasn t defined It got tedious to have to put my Kindle down several times in the space of a paragraph and have to look up random facts since it didn t come up if I tried to look it up on the Kindle I gave up looking this stuff up pretty quickly The dialogue was stilted here were quite a few inconsistencies that I noticed in the story Male and female roommates were introduced which were named as Mallory and Sarah Jane In the next sentence they were both described as females Fianc was used consistently to described both male and females although the definition is a male who is engaged A female is a fianc e. When the guns were turned on us pdf free Finally I found it very difficult to believe that women who are being coerced to have sex against their will would behave the way that they did in this story In one instance the woman actually smiled kissed him and promised to make the man feel happier than he s ever felt in his life in exchange for a minimal reward. Book when the guns were turned on us This book had a lot of potential The characters were a little unilateral the good guys had no flaws and the bad guys were totally evil I would have liked to see a little depth to them and have them be a little realistic Most people operate in shades of gray no matter which side they re on Overall it was a good story but with better editing and dialogue it could really have been great Christopher McGarry A dystopian story that has real potential that was not completely reached in this effort This book needs a lot of editing as to both punctuation grammar and content One content comment is that a 30 mm chain gun on a Cobra attack helicopter is just that not a 7. Book when the guns were turned on us navy 62 caliber weapon That one set my teeth on edge in the midst of the explosive ending that was otherwise pretty well done The author deserves four stars for his effort for the story for the characters though they were not as well fleshed out as I would have liked Given a little work this could be a really good book As it was I enjoyed the story Christopher McGarry This is a post apocalyptic book I really enjoyed reading It had me hooked from page one to the end The way this country is going in real life and how this book s story is is kinda scary Kinda because in real life this president isn t really making friends with the other countries in North America In this book all of the countries in North America Mexico The United States and Canada formed one giant country and they made a currency of their own called the Amero They also acquired other smaller countries as well It seems that the United Nations has turned into an evil organization that its main purpose is to control the population and the North American government has a tight grip on its citizens If the citizens try to even say something they get taken to a reeducation facility code word for prison this also includes children they really don t give a damn who it is as long as they keep control of their citizens The charachters in the book are all fantastic both the villians and the heroes and the story is superb This book is really an awesome read which I would recommend everyone to read I like books with short chapters this is part of what makes it fun this book is one of those books with short chapters I would have finished it sooner but life happens and I had to deal with some things I m looking forward to read the other books in this series as I m dyong to see what will happen to thos country Christopher McGarry In 2008 the US Canada all other worldwide countries had a severe financial meltdown Conflicts of all sorts magnitudes erupted Nations divided then came together with one another The US Canada Liberal New Democrat Green coalition Australia New Zealand a few NATO countries Israel declared war against the Russian Federation Islamic Asian states Mexico Guatemala El Salvador Honduras flooded the US with unfit illegal immigrants.
