If i had you book

A Russian immigrant I don t think I have read a main character who was displaced from Russia during WWI That uniqueness kept me wrapped up in the story Plus the level of detail really made me feel as though I was there at the Grand Russe I have not read this Author before and really liked her writing style and level of detail Ivan and Alecia were great main characters and their attraction and romance were played out that made sense to the time period and sensibilities There are some sexy scenes but they are on the sensual side Ivan and Alecia were both affected by the war and lost those they loved.

If he had been with me book 2

Has a policy of the staff not mingling with the guests but when Ivan finds a way to do it through a possible attempted murder will they find a way through it all Will Ivan get tied up in the revenge that his sister wants I found the premise for the story good but I found I was a little lost with the editing There was no breaks with the different story lines so often I found myself lost with who was involved Unfortunately that carried through the entire book which I found definitely took away from the story as it caused me to reread things and frustrated me. If i had you kindle unlimited I liked Alecia and her innocence with coming to London to work Her relationship with the Marvin s was interesting and it seemed like they had an open marriage Alecia didn t have much money but I wasn t sure where her money was going or how long she had been working for them I also liked Ivan but really wasn t sure where things would end up with him with his sister.

If i had you mystery box Alecia Loudon moved to London to work as a secretary for a Director actor and his actress wife She lives with them in one of the suites of the Grand Russe Hotel and every night she sneaks downstairs to listen to the jazz music through the wall that the hotel shares with the nightclub She has been dreaming of life as a jazz baby and the good looking and mysterious security guard working the night shift Ivan and his sister are refugees from Russia I really liked this one I love that even after they became intimate they were worried about propriety and not living together until they got married 9781601835802 Such a lovely cover Unfortunately If I had You just wasn t my cup of tea and I quickly lost interest. If i had you epub online I was given an advanced reader copy from Lyrical Press Kensington via Netgalley 9781601835802 Get swept up in the 1920s London romance and life of Ivan and Alecia I totally loved this because it took place during a very special time for women a time when women were taking great pains to be seen as independent beings and testing the constraints society has long placed upon them Seeing the 1920s from the perspective of a Russian immigrant and a London newcomer was interesting The 1920s were a bit different across the pond but the thrill of Jazz the modernizing world and the temptation of romance made the read beyond worth it I enjoyed how the story intricately wove each character into its tapestry to ensure every character at some point or another was extremely relevant and interconnected to the story overall There s suspense romance and hints of other elements that came together to make the novel interesting and vivd I found myself smiling then laughing then cringing and so forth Heather Hiestand made this story very interesting and I m glad to have grabbed a copy to read 9781601835802 This was a sweet little book There was a lot to like about it The time setting was interesting and the characters strong This is a romance book however there is a lot going on with it than just a love story which is a pleasant change I felt it was maybe a little long but overall I really enjoyed it 9781601835802

Book if i had you by robert frost I liked that this story was set in London and that it was centered around Ivan but they haven t let them become bitter Besides the romance you have intrigue as to assassination plans for Ivan s cousin and where did Alecia s sister Sadie disappear to This is the first book in the series The next book does feature Sadie so I guess we will find out what happened to her. Kindle if i had you book Engaging Roaring 20 s romance 4Stars I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review 9781601835802 It s been too long since I ve come across a romance novel with such a unique plot and setting This novel brought me back to my teen years when I would get A s on my history tests not because I d retained the material from boring school textbooks but because I d read about the time period and events from a well researched thoughtfully written historical romance novel with an unforgettable and intriguing heroine and hero This author delivers all of that and Apart from what I learned about the time period in Russian history the sights sounds and scents of the setting as described by the author made me feel as though I were right there in the pages I could feel my heart jump as the story developed along some rather nail biting lines but I won t spoil the plot for you And let me not even talk about the ahem. If he had been with me book 2 relationship between the lovers Whew When an author can write about sex without making me chuckle or roll my eyes yet at the same time develop a story line such as this I know I just have to read of her books when I m in the mood for a great romance Treat yourself to this one and read it while drinking your favorite Russian vodka martini 9781601835802 A okay read for me most of the story was good but it dragged on a bit in places Ivan was my favorite character so serious but sweet 9781601835802 Traveling to the 1920 s an era that is notable for the multitude of social changes and several upheavals in the political realm with the conclusion of World War I and the realignment of several monarchies throughout Europe Thus the incursion of Russian migr s titled and not into England after the fall of the final Romanov Tsar Here we find Alecia newly arrived to London as a career woman and personal secretary to the owners of The Grand Russe Hotel She s a diligent rather innocent and reserved young woman certain of her own skills if a bit unsure socially The glamour and glitz of the hotel the newness of Jazz and the apparent free for all socialization of the young people and her own curiosity and desire to make her own stamp on the world are all in play Ivan works at the hotel far worldly and free he s decided to explore Alecia further He s dashing daring and different and Alecia s limited experience is wowed by his manner But there s also far to this Russian migr things that Alecia may not be prepared to deal with Characters were well drawn although I wanted to see of the dichotomy between good and evil secrets and openness that Heistand used here She s capable of it from earlier titles I ve read in her Redcakes series so I did feel could have been brought to both characters Settings the feel of the 20 s and even the bits of intrigue were well done but without that real OOMPH from the characters to draw me in and have a stronger emotional reaction to them the story was light and interesting for the most part but nothing compelled me to keep on reading as I had to turn the next page A little meandering in spots did make this story a bit uneven in terms of pacing but an interesting first installment to a series one that leads me to hope for challenge in the characterization in future books I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review I was not compensated for this review all conclusions are my own responsibility. If i had you back This review was originally posted on I am Indeed 9781601835802 Alecia Loudon is a secretary for actors Richard and Sybil Marvin as they all reside in the Grand Russe Hotel in London Alecia is quite naive and isn t familiar with the lifestyle that the hotel is surrounded with but she is very attracted to Ivan Salter the night watchman for the hotel Ivan Salter s boss Peter Eyre Vera really wanting revenge on Georgy Ovolensky There was also a whole bunch of different characters and I was sometimes confused on how everybody was linked 9781601835802 If I Had You (The Grand Russe Hotel, #1).
