A bad place to be a hero
And I usually do not like westerns but this book was so well written that I couldn t wait to turn the page The character descriptions gave you a real connection to who they were and what they were thinking The way the author describes each scenic environment really gives you the feeling of being right there This book was an absolute joy to read This makes me proud for having an autograph copy A Bad Place To Be Good readGood read goes fast and I like westernsIt s got a few different turns not your ordinary western but the good guy wins If you like westerns you will enjoy this A Bad Place To Be Quite a taleIt amazes me how good writers take a concert that has been used a 1000 times and make it fresh.
#heading[2]Josh Morrow and Seth Jacobs became fast friends while serving in the cavalry and fighting Comanches in Texas Their dream of owning a ranch in Idaho s Salmon River country kept them going during those tough times in the Army The dream however is derailed when Seth is murdered in the Bear Creek gold fields In his quest to obtain justice for his friend Josh is plunged into a quagmire of corruption and wickedness And then to complicate matters even enter Sarah an outcast prostitute looking for a ticket to respectability Is she friend lover or just someone looking for a free ride out of Bear Creek Josh has to decide assuming he lives that long However staying alive might be difficult given the character of the sheriff and his cronies Few people trust them to uphold the law yet no one dares to challenge them The simplest solution to this entire mess would be to walk away but Josh s conscience won t allow that Only time will tell if he is to take his stubborn loyalty to the grave A Bad Place To BeI grew up on a ranch in southern Idaho It is here that I developed a love of the land and animals unspoiled places that when I m there I sometimes think This country probably looked this way a 150 years ago I m so grateful that places like this still exist in our modern times My desire to write started at a very young age about nine as I recall And too my interest in western history began around this time I was a voracious reader of the various western history magazines I felt a connection of sorts to the characters in these magazines as my great grandmother single handedly captured several bank robbers who came to my grandparent s ranch wanting food and water Writing however was something that I did in my spare time until about two years ago when I retired from a career as a wildlife biologist and wildland firefighter Now I spend a good deal of my time writing I enjoy writing as it seems to come easy and it gives me satisfaction When I m not writing my wife our dog Bella and I are usually hiking in the mountains of Montana or Idaho and fishing I ve read books by most of the prominent western authors but the writers who have influenced me most are probably Hemingway Ivan Doig and Thomas Savage 
I really enjoyed this book new and entertaining A Bad Place To Be
