Sweet and funny what could go wrong Well nothing Nothing could go wrong I really liked him but for me he was in the shadows for Aria s beautifully handsome and secrative neighbour Reid I adore him He isn t in the book quite as much as Caleb but the moments he is in I loved every scene I am hoping for a lot Reid moments in book 2. PDF The halfling 5e One thing that I am sad about is that I read the entire book not realising that it links in with another of Heather s series I didn t realise this until right at the end because I haven t read Heather s other series A part of me wishes I had as I feel like I d have felt for Aria and understood her so much better if I had so I definitely need to go back and read that other series. The Halfing is a fun start to what I expect to be a super exciting series Aria Fae has just been exiled from her home world She s half fae and was trained as a warrior but now she s just a normalish teenage girl trying to scrape by Lucky for her she meets tech genius Sam on her first day of school and finds someone who she can be honest with so she won t be so alone in this new world Together the girls decide to use their talents to find out what happened to Sam s mom while also stopping a deadly drug known as Black Magic from taking over their city. Book The halfling names Fairy vigilante How can you not want to read about a fairy vigilante which is exactly what The Halfling is about Aria uses her super speed strength and other fae abilities to stop drug addicts and criminals from committing crimes Meanwhile Sam creates gadgets and runs their lair I know it seems really improbable but it was so fun And it does make perfect sense once you get to know these girls Sam is lonely and just wants to know what happened the night her mother died Aria is depressed because she lost her sense of purpose and self when she was cut off from her kind Teaming up gives both girls the connection that they need And it s just action packed exciting and fun Really the best word for The Hafling was fun It was a feel good read and just made me happy I loved this mashup of fae and superhero And the relationship between Sam and Aria gave me all of the squishy feelings Plus their friendship is front and center over any blossoming romance that may be there Yes there are boys that Aria has her eyes on a secret organisation She now is trying to live a normal human life and hiding her Halfling abilities But can she stop trying to help people when she has the ability to when everything in Grant City turns dark I loved this book Like I seriously loved everything about it It was fast paced and fun and I just loved the characters I loved Aria I loved her friends I basically loved everything about this book It was amazing The friendship between Aria and Sam was such a beautiful thing to see develop One thing I adored so much was that the book focussed on their friendship than the love interests and I think books need to do that Relationships are great to read about but friendships last forever and I loved that Heather focussed on that aspect so much it made the book just so much amazing to me. The halfling saga book 1 As Aria struggles to accept her fate she finds herself suddenly thrust into an alien world called Grant City She wants to desperately blend in become the shadow and hide from everyone so no one notices that she is different On her first day at school she rescues Samantha Shy from getting beat up and forges a bond of true friendship in the midst of confusion and loneliness of this new destiny Samantha takes Aria under her wings and shows her the ropes Sam is a geeky computer whiz But deep down Sam hides an intense pain that was brought on by the loss of a loved one. The halfling saga book 1 As the story develops I loved how the author addresses Aria s battle with depression how she defined the disease She portrayed Aria as a strong willed young woman yet she did not shy away from showing Aria s vulnerable side As Aria struggles with what the future holds for her she succeeds in acclimatizing herself to her new situation with the help of Sam and finally reveals the truth about her origin to her Sam being Sam totally embraces Aria being half human and half Fae H. Half lion book author D Gordon very subtly incorporate a touch of romance into the story with the entrance of mysterious Reid and charming young Caleb All through the book I kept rooting for Reid he played an integral yet elusive role as Aria s neighbor Aria manages to intrigue Reid but he keeps his thoughts very close to his chest and never reveal that he knows or that he sees everything And for Aria there is something about Reid that strikes her imagination and seizes her teen hormones Whereas Caleb played a huge role in the story what with his father being who he is Caleb on the other hand is pretty straight forward about his interest in Aria and he pursues her relentlessly As Aria slowly starts to make a new life for herself in Grant City she also makes a new friend in her employer Rose Then Sam because of her tragic past and because of the Fae skills that Aria possesses comes up with a plan She wants Aria to fight crime during her nights and keep the streets of Grant City safe Sam manages to get her childhood best friend Mark to tag long on their quest At first things are easy dangerous but exhilarating the trio make a perfect team each bringing a skillset into the mix They manage to make quite a dent in the Black Magic market But little do they know that the main man Mr Shy wasn t a dummy My heart about jumped out of my chest with what transpires The true revelation of who Mr Shy is and what he is all about almost made me throw my kindle What Aria had to face how she had to center herself And the ending and the hurting OH MY LORD The ending left me craving for and some part of why Aria was banished comes to light It made me angry and sad and I wanted to hug her and make her feel safe and accepted If you haven t read the The Halfling then don t wait any go and 1 click this fastastical story about Fae and their kinds 319 The Halfling by H D Gordon is the first book in The Aria Fae Series a paranormal fantasy that exceeded my expectations with fantastic writing and characters that grabbed hold of me and wouldn t let go. Book The halfling names Aria knew she couldn t run from her past but here she is in a new place She is a skate board riding Fae part of the Brokers an organization of Halflings half supernatural and half human She is an empath and I cannot imagine how difficult that would be in high school Her empathy and need to help gets her in trouble but I love her for it How can I resist a strong character who marches to her own drum She meets up with Sam a girl hacker who becomes her BFF and it changes everything I love the little nerd Sam who is your typical teenager except for her supernatural skills I love the connection that brought them together but you will need to find out for yourself The girls fun personalities and watching them grow and blossom as they create their family kept me on pins and needles as I kept waiting for the bad to happen I know it has to come but I love these kids so much I don t want anything to happen to them. The halfling book Almost from the beginning I realize it s very good I like the story the characters and the writing and in the end I go on Goodreads and seek the author I find out I already read one of the books from her and its 5 stars read so I think I will check some of her other books too because she didn t disappoint this time either. The half king book Aria gets a job at a local flower shop so she can afford her crappy apartment and she also gets a best friend by the name of Samantha Shy Samantha is all human but eventually comes to learn of Aria s fae blood Samantha s mother has died and the two of them start to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death There is a new drug in the city called Black Magic which all leads to one big crime lord that twists around with the death of Samantha s mother With the encouragement of Samantha Aria starts to become a vigilante She wears a mask and goes jumping off into the dark night stopping crime all the while getting clues about the new drug in town. The Halfling ebookee And let s not forget boys Aria has a very mysterious hot neighbor named Thomas who is a man of few words but I think will play a bigger part in future books And we have the hottie and super rich Caleb Cross whose dad is a well known businessman in town There isn t any romance in this book but I think it s being set up for something in future books. Book The halfling I really enjoyed this world and Aria It s a geeky urban fantasy Aria is only seventeen but to me she came across a bit older but still awkward after she uses her superpowers a bit to get up on a roof Iuh. The half king book 2 Aria is a fun heroine she s witty and tough and I adored Aria s friendship with Samantha They go from strangers to truly best friends by the end of the book It s a very positive female friendship While Aria is out using her superpowers to fight crime Samantha hangs back and uses her super tech skills as support I like that Caleb and Thomas circle around on the outskirts and the author doesn t rush anything with them She gives us some subtle hints and clues about them but for the most part they are still a mystery. The halfling saga book 1 There a few things that made me scratch my head Aria is half fae and has trained most of her life to keep peace between the human and fae race but I wasn t sure how that plays out in the human world I don t think humans are aware of supernaturals so where do the Peace Brokers come into play Plus I would think Aria would be able to detect a supernatural pretty quick in the human world but one kind of takes her by surprise and I figured she would have been much prepared for that possibility due to her previous training I also would have liked to know about the fae world and why she was banished I kind of feel the fae world comes into play at the end and it was of an easy way out The fae world isn t explained well in this one. The halfling saga book 4 Grade B 319 I received a copy in exchange for an honest reviewHaving read some of HD Gordon her books in the past I was really excited when I heard about this new series of her and jumped at the chance to read and review it The Halfling is a great book about Aria who s an outcast half Fea and half human she doesn t belong in the human world where s she s stuck She battles depressing and isn t at a good point when the moves to Grant City but I think she finally found her home She meets Sam and get s a purpose and immediately things are looking brighter until things start going wrong again It s a bit urban fantasy and a bit superheroes it has action cool gadgets awesome characters and . The halfling saga book 4 The Halfling is a well paced story that kept my attention the whole time It s told in such a way as if the main character is telling her story after everything happened and she hints to bad things that will happen and which decisions contributed to that It added some suspense to the read and was well done And once things start going wrong it was hard to put the book I liked how this book ended but at the same time feel like it s only the beginning and I am curious about the next book. Kindle The halfling monk Aria is a great characters she can t help but care about others and helps them when she can But she can also be a badass fighter who fights for good She struggles with depression and I thought the author handled this well not go too deep into it to make it truly depressing but do give a feel for what she s going through And even though what s she s going through she still tries to be polite and responsible most of the times even though there are a few scenes where she flips I loved reading about Aria and her story and seeing how she interacted with other people like Sam the flower shop owner and her neighbour. The halfling saga book 3 The friendship between Sam and Aria is so awesome and a central part of the book These two meet each other at the right moment and quickly become great friends they are there for each other and help each other out They complement each other and it was great to read about friends like this Sam is a nerd or computer geek and the perfect sidekick for Aria Sam also has been gone through a lot and still struggles with things I thought she was a great character and a good friend to Aria. Book The halfling There is a hint of romance in the form of two possible love interests but it s not really a love triangle There also isn t much romance just a hint of what could be and might grow into I preferred her mysterious neighbour to Calem as love interest. Fantasy name generator halfling The world building isn t present a lot as this story takes place in the human world Yes Aria is a half fea and we learn about what that means for her and her powers and a bit about the peace brokers where she worked before but we don t learn a lot about the other world she talks about There is some cross over with the author her other series so it might get explained there Nevertheless I never felt like the world building was lacking it simply isn t necessary to know and would bog down the story So we learn what s relevant and the rest stays a bit of a mystery which worked well To summarize I really enjoyed this book I got sucked into the story from the first page and enjoyed the story It s paced really well with hints of what s to come and enough plot lines and tension to keep me looking forward to what would happen next The characters really make this book shine both Sam and Aria are great characters and we really get a good feel for both of them I liked how their friendship took much of the center stage and these two where such great friends and I am happy they found each other There is a hint of two possible love interests for Aria but this book doesn t really focus on that The story fully takes place in the human world so the world building stays limited But that s okay we learn what s relevant to Aria her powers and a bit of her past And while I am curious to learn about the other worlds it s not relevant in this book and I didn t feel it was missing I am pretty sure this book is only the start and I can t wait to see how the story continues in the next book 319 Her life lay ahead of her a talented and well trained warrior in a secret supernatural organization the only place Aria has known as home her entire life One mistake one rule bent all in the name of kindness and Aria finds herself adrift and alone in the human world an outcast a half fae half human with nowhere to call home no one to stand with her fight for her or comfort her.
