From his childhood to his retirement this book is well written and powerful He begins with stories about his childhood and family before taking the reader with him through college and on into his career as a police officer Turning Blue was published in The casual memory focused tone of the book mixed with the first person perspective gives the story the personal sentiment that only Hoffman could give to his own story You really get into the characters head and feel their struggles and accomplishments as you really live their journey with them The funny sarcasm of the character gave the book an excellent lens to see the serious story through.
