EBook Panteria chronicles def Science fiction is a genre that always grabs my attention and yet is something I have read woefully little about For that reason I was so pleased to receive this ARC and learn about the genre from one of its lesser known cohorts The synopsis was intriguing and the dark and brooding cover engaged my interest I was eager to learn It is the thirteenth century here on planet Earth and an ancient city state known as Panteria has united the planet and attempted to bring peace after centuries of war With genetically and biochemically enhanced soldiers at their disposal the rebels that don t condone Panteria s reign stand no chance That is until one soldier decides to work democratically for peace instead of existing as a blindly subservient killer and suppressor and joins their fight for freedom. EBook Panteria chronicles This is one clever book The scientific aspects of the novel are sometimes so in depth as to appear mind boggling The author has created a future technologically advanced society so soundly and succinctly as to appear real and whole despite the limited actual world building present This is an action dominated book and yet the world created did not suffer because of it. Panteria Chronicles kindle store What did diminish my enjoyment however was that I constantly felt one pace behind the narrative The first fifty pages of the novel introduced around eight protagonists and I struggled to see how their disparate narratives would converge I felt my reading experience would have benefited from a longer introduction to each person and their connection with one another or with fewer perspectives as I was constantly confusing my characters This wasn t helped by the similarities and blandness in their names Also the constant repetition of their first names including army title and surname also formed a distance between the characters and myself and stopped me forming any empathetic bonds They felt like fully formed characters but ones I was constantly disassociated with. EBook Panteria chronicles 9 The only aspect that didn t feel real for me was that present day popular cultural references that were still frequently used I find it unbelievable that comic book superheroes and spy thriller movies would still bear relevance and significance one thousand years in the future This is a strong first installment and an action packed and quick paced read but I would have preferred some padding to fully immerse myself in the story Paperback This novel was a little a different than the other two of the first three books of the Panteria Chronicles As you may or may not know the first three books used to be a single volume until an indie publisher suggested that I break it up into three volumes This was a great idea especially since this 1 made it easier for them to publish and 2 let me flesh out the characters and world further. Panteria Chronicles fantasy springs Of course since this was the first part of a three part book it was really meant to be the section that introduced all the characters and the world of Panteria Therefore I didn t really have a big bad like the others even though technically the big bad in the Book 2 isn t who you d think. Panteria Chronicles fantasy springs Still working with Page Bacon was a pleasure They published this first book of the series and I will be ever grateful for and indebted to them since they got me writing again. Book Panteria chronicles mag I hope you enjoy the read Paperback A good book to read if you like this kind of book Paperback Fast paced and vast in scope with an array of characters to love and despise A beautiful and violent insight into the 30th century battlezone Paperback
