The reader is treated to a high tech war between these society told from the alternating views of two soldiers on opposite sides as they use weapons and technology that manipulate gravity and time. A fun adventure with big ideas and characters you ll love and if I deduced the twist before the end the climax was an unexpected and poignant choice leaving room for continuations J Edward Neill InterestingThis book reminded me of modern society so many are plugged in and ignorant of many aspects of life I enjoyed this It was a simple quick read J Edward Neill I ve always loved futuristic fantasy and this was no exception The concept is well thought out and wonderfully written I was captivated from the beginning My only complaint is that it wasn t long enough I loved the world the author created and I wanted to read about it J Edward Neill Good story I would have liked to see the author develop the characters J Edward Neill The premise far from new was brilliantly handled in a refreshing thought provoking way My only complaint it was too short The story and characters deserved depth There was too much exposition at times and too little detail in others especially regarding character motivation A shame for these are interesting characters and there s enough material in this story for a trilogy I guess that was not the author s intention and the result is fast paced entertaining read that leaves a lot to the imagination 4. 5 stars J Edward Neill I received this book in a Goodreads Giveaway This book takes place in the distant future and is relatively well written despite a few editing errors It deals with enhanced virtual reality world building how people with different priorities can become enemies AIs and high tech war The main characters could have been better developed if the book was a little longer However the book was thought provoking and had a different take on the subject matter than a lot of other sci fi novels I am glad I read it but it did not blow me away J Edward Neill The premise was very interesting We ve eliminated the need to work We ve not only automated the work but we ve automated fixing building the automation With nothing else to do we ve become consumed with virtual reality and nearly everyone is jacked in and never disconnects However a few people don t want to jack in and eventually there is a war between the outs and ins. The book itself however was disappointing There s just a lot missing Our protagonists are thrown into situations and not given information they need Why Who knows And then later everyone else knows that secret information that was held from the protagonist It just doesn t make sense Nor does it serve the story why would they withhold critical information from the people they need until moments before they d need to use that info The scenes often end before the action or begin after the action There was so much potential We really missed out on world building character development and just so much story I ve saved the worst for last The cliches Beautiful women Always white as snow with brightly colored eyes Bluer than the sky Greener than any green you ve ever seen And no matter what is going on our male heroes always think of those gorgeous women Never seen the sun before It looks just like his lover BeAuTiFuL Asked to kill people but you know you are missing critical information It doesn t matter because you just can t resist that sexy woman asking you I literally rolled my eyes once while reading and had to find my place again J Edward Neill Revenge idiot fight destruction for no purpose not much to like as unlikable characters Purchase March 9 2019 for 3. 99 promotion net cost zero J Edward Neill I had a great review of this book written up right after i finished reading it about 2 months ago but I seem to have lost that fresh review I won this as a GoodReads giveaway and I am very glad I did This is my second novel by Mr Neill and I have enjoyed both of them This one was fast and furious but very well written in that I did not have much trouble figureing out the scenario the world.
