Pretty good readI liked the story but found that the Japanese names and titles confused me a bit I also noticed that some words were missing or reversed which was distracting I was given the honor of reading this book free for a honest review The Druid s Spear Ascent of the Gem Bearers Book 1 Ken Aoki s world is shattered with the loss of his mother All that is left is two strange objects she willed to him If the doomsayers all over the media are right and everything is soon to end then at least the apocalypse will end his pain When he stumbles onto his best friend s corpse and is attacked by a powerful stranger that leaves him for dead he wakes to find himself mixed up with cave dwellers whose hopes rest on the mysterious artifacts in his possession The beautiful and aloof Rin Uchida helps Ken discover there s to himself than he ever knew As the planet is bombarded by natural disasters Ken and Rin race against time to stop a dangerous adversary that will do anything to complete his objective destroy humanity at any cost The Druid s Spear Ascent of the Gem Bearers Book 1 The Druid s Spear is the first book in what looks to be a very gripping fantasy series The story combines urban fantasy with galactic mythology and blends Eastern and Western fantasy styles together in an action packed epic that will make your head spin The East Asian flavor makes this book stand out from other fantasy tales which usually rely in medieval imagery But this is no Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon The story is set in modern times with just the right amount of supernatural strangeness sprinkled in The characters and plot were intriguing and the last fifteen pages were super intense and twisty Can t wait for book two The Druid s Spear Ascent of the Gem Bearers Book 1 I m one of those readers who loves a good fantasy I love to be taken to other worlds learn about people who may be half human and have supernatural abilities The Druid s Spear was the perfect book for me I enjoyed the adventure that Ken Rin Tambo and the others characters took me on Even the villains were interesting and intriguing All the characters make you want to get lost in their world and know them better You will be eager to know about these half humans and well I can t tell you what the other half is you will have to read the story for yourself I need part two of the story to be release soon I m curious to know what is the tension between the old man and Rin s father and is there a love affair brewing between Rin and Ken Oh I need to what happen to the villains So if you love fantasy and enjoy dreaming and living in other worlds for a few hours this is the book for you Even if you have never tried fantasy give this one a chance you will be happy you did The Druid s Spear Ascent of the Gem Bearers Book 1 I don t normally like fantasy At all But I was pleasantly surprised to find this book changed my opinion on the matter Filled with strong vibrant characters as well as mythology and an intense aura of mystery The Druid s Spear is a fast paced adventure that will leave you wanting once you reach the end And thank goodness this is book one because there is ahead for Ken and Rin I can feel it The Druid s Spear Ascent of the Gem Bearers Book 1 Loved it I got this book for free of the writer in return for an honest review So here goes Don t let the prologue put you off Honestly I got a bit confused reading the prologue and found it a bit too descriptive and couldn t understand what was going on I would recommend skipping it and just going straight to the first chapter as you aren t really missing anything. Iron druid book series Once I started though this book only seemed to get better and better the I read I love fantasy books but I haven t read anything like this one before it was very well written and very descriptive which was good not as much as the prologue I honestly can t wait to buy the next book and discover what happens nextI will definitely be looking out for of Parker Paynes work The Druid s Spear Ascent of the Gem Bearers Book 1 What do you get when you toss an average joe a warrior girl and a crazed sociopath into the same bowl A tasty salad topped with adventure, Book the druid's spear summary It became and difficult to put down the further I went My eye is difficult to capture and this fantasy adventure caught it.
