Body shock depression out and out serialism even a bit of dark humor at the end But I think the strongest overall theme is a feeling of psychological detachment from the protagonists This gives some of the parts an dream like flow that allows the gory details fester in your head as the individual stories develop but on some occasions I wanted to really get to the nitty gritty of what was happening in the persons world Here and there it felt that the words came all too quickly What I found interesting about Transfiguration is that there are two major levels at work here Yes there is the extreme coping mechanisms employed that the narrators either inflict on themselves or observe from the people they report about But it s the mundane horrors of loss unfulfilled desire and self esteem that are the catalysts for action All of which in our world are painfully familiar Max Aaron The r nosleep masterI loved all the stories Loved that there were a few I hadn t read yet Teeny Tiny and Licks From a Bear are my favorites Max Aaron
