The book lacks detail lots of source code in the book makes it longer than it should Useful for using it to get a bit and then google it Magento 2 Developer s Guide Quite frankly this is not the best book out there on the subject It s very dense and explains simple concepts but then assumes you already understand the complex ones and doesn t go into them at all It s ok for a reference but not for learning how to do Magento development Plus the author puts hundreds of lines of code in the book which you are supposed to turn into bash script files however he doesn t provide the files anywhere to download and one is just expected to retype everything from the book without making one error which is highly annoying I ended up using google to find out how to do the things these scripts where supposed to do and the resources I found made the process much much simpler Magento 2 Developer s Guide I am not aware of any new editions of this book but my copy was published in 2015 Although the book is just as relevant as any online guide in regard to code I am bringing this up to say that this edition was poorly revised and I can t seem to find any newer revisions.
