Texas where he was on the ground and actually inside the compound during that first attack A lot of the material in the book is an indictment on the poor management that DiBetta experienced during his years working there Sometimes names are omitted but enough detail is given so people on the inside would know who was being discussed In that regard this book is quite entertaining because hearing about the numerous missteps in a federal agency across 2 decades is quite eye opening At one point DiBetta received an award for a 6 month stint as an Air Marshall after 9 11 that was given out by a manager that he didn t get along with and the verbiage that went with the award was.

This is the book you should be reading It s pretty good as a tell all type book too DiBetta s secondary reason to write this book seems to be to increase the visibility of the 4 agents that died on the day that they moved in on the Branch Davidians in Waco Dibetta s account of the problems in the field that led up to the failed raid as well as the management decisions that ultimately led to the failure provide a very solid middle of this book 1942613121 An interesting look at the ATF from the perspective of a former agent David DiBetta has written a fast paced book covering many aspects of the agency and the jobs he performed If you have any interest in the ATF or law enforcement in general.
