I was working in my sons kindergarten class as a volunteer when I heard one of his class mates say to him Youre fat. My first reaction was to freeze, then tears came to my eyes. My heart broke for my child. I could not believe my ears. This brought back a world of hurt for me as I was bullied terribly in school when I was younger. I was overweight and have red hair and if I was not being called Miss Piggy, I was being called red headed wood pecker. Well after hearing this child say this to my son, who is the kindest most gentle young man in the whole world, I immediately pulled his teacher aside and told her what had happened. She spoke to the young lady and to my knowledge, my son was never bullied again. My son even stuck up for friends who were bullied. I taught him to live his life by the Golden Rule and he most certainly does. I am so proud of him. I love you Josh!This is my third book. I write inspirational childrens books and this one teaches a valuable lesson on bullying. The message is current, fun to read, and the illustrations are lovely.
