I really found this book very interesting psychology is my thing I was very interested in the way that it was written by a past survivor In short chapters she does not focus on herself like many books written by past survivors who need to do it for themselves to gain some sort of closure This had really practical information on how to spot a potential psychopath When we fall in love we can get blind sided by being in love Myself I would be very wary of someone falling in love with me after one date for other people I know it would be all their rainbows had come at once Psychopaths like narcissists etc have a certain way of picking their potential victims They love bomb them when it is too late because you got carried away by their charm it is far too late By that time they will have manipulated so much that everything they tell you about yourself you will begin to believe them Your self esteem will drop to rock bottom In some cases they will have dispensed with you to seek out another victim If you try to tell people what is happening people who have never been in this person s situation will find it very hard to believe you The psychopath and narcissists are so utterly charming in front of your friends and family that even they will blame you when they leave you broken inside out I have my own term for this I call it An egg without a yolk inside Easily shattered no self esteem left etc Some people are able with the correct support do get back on their feet For others they get targeted by the same kind of person the whole cycle repeats itself I would recommend this book 100% It does not matter if you need help or just learning to be a psychologist counsellor it can give a real insight on how these people operate and the signs to look out for 100 the title alone is inaccurate and proven wrong by a few different studies still I chose to read it and give it a chance clearly this is of an intillectual and assuming account of a person who had a bad experience and did situational research on the topic I ve read a few chapters so far and she still sticks to psychopaths can t love and they just manipulate not entirely accurate as it has been proven psychopaths can love they can feel just like anyone else the difference is they can choose when to feel emotions and when to not feel them making them cut throat when in reality it s unless you make yourself worth their emotional time they don t care they see you as unimportant BIG difference than not being capable of love quite a few are actually hopeless romantics the reality just never adds up to their thoughts of what love is so they grow tired of it fast if you are in an abusive relationship this book may help you if you actually want to learn about psychopaths it is full of too many inaccuracies to be helpful 100
