But loved how everything turned out Historical Romance Nicely written G rated romance that is fairly predictable Historical Romance I really enjoyed this book It is set in England and India great characters The romance is so slow to almost non existent and then with the wrong person but I didn t care at all I was completely caught up in the story I could easily picture everything in my head like a movie It ALMOST made me want to go to India This was just a side read for me in between reviews and I m glad I read it I m looking forward to by this author I have another of her books waiting for me. One instance of kissing Historical Romance I was given this ebook in exchange for an unbiased review Such a fun and clean time period romance I have to say it held my interest and I was rooting for characters It was beautifully written The sentences flowed well together and I loved that we got to hear Charles thoughts and feelings Normally you don t get to know what s going on in the mind of the man. A heart made of indigo song Great book for a book club and totally PG Ages 12 and up would enjoy it without any worries of inappropriate content Even younger girls could read this depending on their maturity level Historical Romance I ve read this book several times and it hasn t gotten old yet I like that it s in the Regency style but not set in England It was interesting reading about India the plantation and the indigo I thought the romance between Katherine and Charles was well paced I loved all the scenes about music since I also play the piano It was nice to be surprised a little in the end since I thought I knew all that was coming Overall this is a cute clean story and one that I d recommend Historical Romance I wanted to like this one but I just never was emotionally attached to the characters The first one third of the book felt very choppy For me it had the feel of and then this happened and then this happened My biggest frustration was there was so much telling and not enough showing I wanted to see and feel Katherine and Charles fall in love with each other There were not enough written conversations between them that made me believe their romance Instead I was told that they were soul mates and that no one understood her better than Charles and that she finally knew love Because I didn t get to experience it as the reader I wasn t emotionally invested I also wanted to experience conversations that Katherine had with Marcus and get to know him better as a suitor I did enjoy the setting of India and the plot. This book was quite wonderful in the way that it slowly enraptured and of my interest At first I thought the beginning to be too generic girl from a wealthy past abruptly torn away and forced to live in poverty and fear finds an escape but the story began to take unexpected turns Where I assumed there would be trials there were none and when I expected ease there was none The way in which Mrs Kay hid her plot in an generic romance storyline but turned away from the usual moves sparked a feeling of unexpectedness I would recommend this book to lighthearted readers wanting a clean demure and enchanting romance Historical Romance Overall I enjoyed the storyline and particularly loved the setting The author did a great job with the beautiful descriptions of India It took me a little bit to get into the story some physical abuse she finds herself an unwelcome guest on a tiny indigo plantation and at the mercy of its handsome but brooding master Charles Mendenhall Intrigued by the broken man to whom she is now indebted she slowly begins to unravel the truth behind his bitterness and in the process makes a place for herself in his heart But a beautiful young Englishwoman is a rare sight in Calcutta and Katherine soon draws the attention of the dashing Lieutenant Marcus Bradford as well Drawn to the elusive Mr Mendenhall flattered by the handsome lieutenant Katherine s heart is pulled in opposite directions entangled in a web of love and loss from which she will not emerge unscathed India was her refuge but unless Katherine can rein in her traitorous heart she will leave the land of her dreams broken than ever before A Heart Made of Indigo Journeys of the Heart 1.
