The instincts and skills Ingram and his buddy acquired as Navy SEALS are tested to their limits Hidden Chamber of Death Moccasin Hollow Mystery 1 What is he she up to I love asking myself that question when I read a mystery It doesn t always happen though I found myself meeting each new character introduced by MacKinney with a little doubt and skepticism The author did a wonderful job keeping a little mystery around his characters and that adds so much to the suspense of the story While I wanted to like or dislike characters immediately I wasn t sure about some of them and their motivations I like wondering about characters for a bit I like that I grew to like and dislike characters through the plot development and not through each character s initial description MacKinney creates than a likeable hero in Ingram I expected to like the main character but.

Hidden Chamber of Death is a compelling tale of intrigue murder deception and suspense that leads retired Navy SEAL part time private investigator Craige Ingram in search of the connection between seemingly random murders and a banking conspiracy Working with the local homicide investigator who just happens to be a former Navy buddy Craige Ingram s attempts to protect a lonely widow and solve the case before another person dies are only thwarted by a psychotic killer whose motivation is based on pure depraved pleasure In this first book of the MOCCASIN HOLLOW MYSTERY SERIES MacKinney takes it a step further in that he made me want to follow the main character s future adventures and future stories from the series Ingram is an old fashioned character I think He s the dependable real world guy that everyone wants in their corner The story reminded me of the old detective shows and crime dramas that I watched on t. Hidden chamber of deathblow Would I recommend Hidden Chamber of Death by Hawk MacKinney The author creates an action packed suspenseful easy to read story with characters readers will enjoy Readers will fall easily into the setting through the the author s descriptions and dialogue and will want to follow future Moccasin Hollow mysteries I would recommend this book to murder mystery fans who also enjoy a bit of a conspiracy and creativity. Hidden chamber of deathfall location I received a complimentary copy of this book for use in a blog review All opinions are my own English Don t let the cover for Hidden Chamber of Death by Hawk MacKinney fool you This story is darker than you think. Hidden chamber of deathglass A death brings ex Navy seal Craige Ingram and Terri a recent widow and bank examiner together Embezzlement puts Terri smack dab into the middle of danger Craige will come to the rescue which is what I expect from a hero Craige is a great guy He takes you as you are no bigotry no judgments. Hidden chamber of deathalynn A grizzly murder and a psycho serial killer always catch my attention I find out early who the killer is but there is going on than murder A death starts an inquiry into the bank records that someone desperately wants to keep quiet. Hidden chamber of deathcrypt I m not sure what it was about the writing but it seemed a bit slow and I stumbled off and on BUT the ending makes it all worth it so read on I will be looking for the next adventure into the Vault of Secrets. Hidden chamber of deathalist To see visit English FIRST IMPRESSION Hidden Chamber of Death has one of the most unique covers I have ever seen While I assumed the cover was simple because the copy I had received was an ARC I learnt to my surprise that the original cover was a plain simple one too The image looked like a Safe with the title superimposed in simple red font The summary was generic enough but the word banking conspiracy caught my attention. Hidden chamber of deathhold location REVIEW The book s prologue made me read it twice being caught in the horrific description of a human corpse I have read gory murder thrillers before being a fan of this genre But the way the carcass was described made me read it than once If nothing the prologue set the mood for the story and I prepared myself to expect the upcoming murders. Hidden chamber of deathail PI Craig Ingram an ex Navy Seal is the protagonist of this story He chases a psychotic murderer trying to make sense of random deaths that would surely have a common connection The murders are described gorily the murderer ruthless Ingram finds himself attracted to a widow trying hard to find the killer using the skills his Navy days taught him The description seems like any other murder mystery novel but where this book differs is in the execution and pace. Hidden chamber of deathail Craig Ingram is a likeable reliable PI giving off old fashioned vibes in his thinking and approach The story follows everything given in the summary things are not as simple as they seem and the image on the surface The story scores much in the twists it executes some unexpected some you seem to be mentally preparing yourself for The author maintains the suspense where characters are concerned with the readers guessing about the credibility of most characters until about halfway through the book. Death chamber key locations WHAT I LIKED The cover was so simple dragging attention than it would if it were like the usual covers of this genreThe pace of the storyThe prologueWHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER The summary could have been a bit intriguing The story deserves it. Hidden chamber of deathhawk The plot element one liner seems so simple leaving all the work to be done by the storyVERDICT Ordinary plot developed into a great storyRATING 4 5 English In the first installment of author Hawk MacKinney s Moccasin Hollow Mystery Series former Navy SEAL and part time investigator Craige Ingram seeks the link between apparent random murders and a financial conspiracy He works with another Navy retiree to protect a widow and resolve the case before others die although a crazed killer seeks to stop them The prologue opens with the philosophy that death is rarely dignified ever truer if the reason is a felony murder in which case the victim is a portly man named Royce Sedgewicke and although the official reason for his demise is allegedly a heart attack others disagree. Hidden chamber of deathdance location The main chapters introduce Craige Ingram who wakes to a foggy day with his German shepherd Lucky and is stills suffering jetlag from visiting Siberia Also introduced early on is Barry Jamison Peters the novel indicating that he was once handsome in prep school and college but ultimately regressing to his current bulky demeanor Other characters include mother and son Terri and Jeff Stanley with their family having recently lost its patriarch and which Craige attempts to comfort Barry patrols the local bar of a hotel for help with the case which is busier than usual with a convention in town although his night proves to be slow Among the final characters introduced is Garland Holton with whom Craige has a somewhat strenuous relation There are occasional twists and turns that keep the story enjoyable throughout with things becoming somewhat tense towards the end culminating in a solid conclusion with room left for follow ups which have at the time of this review s writing have not been yet written The novel is riveting for the most part with an agile flow decent descriptions of various elements that paint a nice picture for the reader and overall fans of thrillers and mysteries will likely enjoy this work English Hidden Chamber of Death is the latest mystery thriller with a touch or romance by prolific author Hawk MacKinney For this genre you need an interesting killer and a determined pursuer I leave the killer a mystery but the pursuer in this case is retired Navy SEAL part time PI named Craige Ingram who has a strong connection with local homicide detective Graysen MacGerald Gray Gray calls Ingram in when he needs another eye to look at a case and the death he is investigating just doesn t feel right. Hidden chamber of deathalynn The creepy sadistic killer character moves a bit in the shadows in this story only being truly in focus in when on the hunt for a new victim While his first murder was discreet the following ones have increasing savagery What he does with them is sick but fortunately the acts are only hinted at instead of described step by step my preference for this type of book. Hidden chamber of deathing location Mixed in is the element of romance Terri Wofford Stanley a beautiful widow with a teenage son to raise takes a job at a bank and ends up in charge of an account of Ingram s The attraction is instant and mutual It doesn t take long before things heat up Unfortunately the killer is also works at the bank and Terri her son and Ingram all end up in his sights What happens next Well you ll just have to pick up a copy and dive in. Mysterious chamber map death ball I want to make one additional comment This book especially the second half could have used a bit of polishing in terms of editing This surprised me as MacKinney is an experienced author with many books to his credit I laboured over reducing the star rating by one to reflect this but eventually decided to rate it on the story itself English

I wasn t quite sure what to make of this book when I received an ARC The cover is extremely simple so not a lot to entice me it s not an author I have read before but the over riding appeal was it focusses on a Navy SEAL so I figured there would be some action. Mysterious chamber map death ball Within minutes of starting it I realised the writing was going to be graphic hit square in the face with a corpse description Moving on it covers a variety of subjects which viewers may find awkward An in depth discussion between father and son about the appeal of girls sex and how the parents have fun It was well written but you can almost feel Jeff squirming with embarrassment he doesn t need to know the details in the next breath they are reminiscing about what Granny would say one extreme to another There were rather a lot of mentions about standing near the grave or looking in the coffin at this point I thought it was going to become tedious but it does move on slowly in the search for a psychotic killer Murders mystery and suspense makes it an average to good plot I do believe it sounds very American so perhaps I didn t gel with it quite as much as some others It hots up towards the end and leaves the way clear for in the series Fans of murder mysteries will find some content in here to make it an enjoyable story Thanks to the author and iRead Book Tours for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion English I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. Hidden chamber of deathalyn When I read the prologue I was afraid this was going to be a long slow read It wasn t even a page long and it contained names like PI Craige Howelle Graeme Roynane Ingram and SEAL Commanding Officer Craige Peadinger Ingram and that was just one person Luckily the prologue was short and wasn t indicative of what was to come. Hidden chamber of deathing location Hidden Chamber of Death is a murder mystery with multiple murders and multiple bad guys Besides a psychotic killer on the loose there are some shady things happening at the bank where the first victim worked I was kept guessing who was involved how they were involved and what exactly they were involved in The characters were well developed It was easy for me to feel for Terri and Jeff who had recently lost their husband and dad respectively They both seem to be dealing with it well When Craige enters their lives he s good for both of them He s not only a PI but he s a good guy and he s been around the block a time or two. Hidden chamber of deathadder I definitely recommend Hidden Chamber of Death if you like a good mystery I m looking forward to the next book in the series English Hidden Chamber of Death is about retired Navy Seal and part time PI Craig Ingram He is trying to find the link between random murders and bank conspiracy all while trying to protect a widow He is working with one of his old Navy buddies on the case Sorry that s all you get about the story I don t want to blow it for anyone This is the first book in the new series by Hawk Mackinney called Moccasin Hollow Mysteries Which is named after the place Craig Ingram calls home After reading book 1 I will be searching and watching for book 2 I enjoyed the southern twang to Mr Mackinney s writing in the book I like his character choices they each had a full personality and were easy to like or hate The book was a kind of quick read with only 244 pages I enjoyed the flow of the story It was pretty action packed English An enjoyable and entertaining story well plotted Likeable and fleshed out characters solid plot.
