Innsmouth Tales By Ran Cartwright

Innsmouth Tales By Ran Cartwright Paperback 1329657209 9781329657205 Innsmouth Tales The Massachusetts seaside village has seen its better days. What remains is a ruined and rotting collection of buildings teetering on the brink of collapse. The scent of fish permeates the air. Trench coated villagers prowl dark allies and side streets. They gather in the night on the village wharf while lantern light flickers off the coast on the craggy cliffs of Devil Reef. Unholy cacophonous sounds echo from the Hall of the Esoteric Order of Dagon on New Church Green. Yes, there’s something unholy about the village, a malignancy dark and mysterious that its inhabitants seem to guard closely from outsiders. Fair warning…do not delve too deeply into their affairs else you may be begging for a swift and merciful death. I should add that I m quite obsessed with Innsmouth and so it might come as no surprise that I really enjoyed this collection of tales It s not quite in the same league as Stephen Jones s collection of Innsmouth tales but it s certainly good enough to feed my addiction a bit longer The cover art is also jaw droppingly brilliant 134

Book Innsmouth tales tavern

Personally I felt that the stories in the collection failed to add any interesting angles to the Innsmouth s bizzare gloomy and doomed painting These stories missed any depth or twist and turns in a proper way Plain and straight forward reading and one I struggled with. Book Innsmouth talesun A simple collection trying to grab herself to some names and locations established by HPL in his story that felt like cheap plastic 134 A solid collection of tales centred around Innsmouth and its denizens Not all stories connected with me but there were hits than misses Stand out stories include Innsmouth Harvest by Ran Cartwright Eddie by Duane Pesice and Rough Night in Innsmouth by Ron Shiflet All three created that all important atmosphere that is in my humble opinion there s something unholy about the village a malignancy dark and mysterious that its inhabitants seem to guard closely from outsiders Fair warning do not delve too deeply into their affairs else you may be begging for a swift and merciful death Innsmouth Tales.
