Like the first book this one opens with quite the bang I was instantly hooked and transported into the beautiful world of Dweomer again There are a lot of twists and turns from each character that I didn t see coming Everything is even better this time around because like every early series I ve ever read the author has gotten into a groove and the characters have really come alive on the pages I ve even gotten to where I feel like I know the characters as they progress through the story I m aching for the third book to come out I have to see how it all ends Fantasy Historical Fiction Gay and Lesbian While the first book in The Sundered Kingdoms series gave us a taste Trials of the Hierophant beautifully delved further into the realm that Ethan Risso has graciously created for us It is certainly one of the best love stories I ve read in a long time and doesn t skip out on the juicy stuff like complex relationships and great friendship I seriously cannot wait for the third volume Definitely sad that it will end as a trilogy Fantasy Historical Fiction Gay and Lesbian We re back in the lands of Dwe mer it being even unstable than when the first book ended The book starts off right were the first one left off which I appreciated since I had finished the first book just in time for the release of this second book Bronwen has become one of my favorite characters and I really like how her character has grown by the end of this book I m also happy to say that Sawyl is back and given a significant role The pacing is pretty good and the time we spend with each of the characters is pretty even throughout Without spoiling the best part of the book I will say that I was left with my jaw on the floor and I m dying to read the third book already Overall I feel that Ethan Risso s writing has become tight and this second book is better for it Fantasy Historical Fiction Gay and Lesbian Gutter trash This is how I rate this book I bought the hardcover version of this book and was eagerly awaiting reading it as I loved the first book in the series as the first was virtually clean and interesting To my surprise this the second book contains a plethora of cursing including the f word and other major contaminants I do not claim that people or works should be censored in any form but I feel cheated because the first book led me to think this book would be clean too.
