I was amazed as I discovered a totally new Author for me and the incredible book she managed to write It is s magnificent reconstruction of life in Lisbon during 1907 and 1908 just before the King was murdered and two years before the Republic was instituted The characters are lively intelligent and ever so authentic All the historic details were carefully researched and the book is enthralling It was difficult to put it down when I had to go to work I know the Author has another book and I am going to start reading it immediately I strongly recommend this Author to all those who can read Portuguese in fact if she were British or American she would probably by a multimillionaire by now and her stories would have been turned into long movies or TV series such as The Forsythe Family or Upstairs Downstairs, Maria CarmoLisbon 13 January 2016 416
