Beautifully written and enjoyable but meanders sometimes and can be hard to followTwo friends one a clinical social worker the other an unemployed veteran in the midst of a custody battle developed psychic abilities Things spiral out of control when their abilities spread to everybody they use them on The broad plot concept was interesting enough to keep me reading to the end but I would have enjoyed exposition and build up around discovering the power Why these two men in particular They both develop abilities from reading a book but we are not given any insights into the origin of the book or why it worked The author is clearly an accomplished word smith and waxes lyrical describing the colourful hallucinations and shared visions the characters enjoy or endure during the narrative Some of these visions serve the plot but many don t and are sometimes distracting The characters regularly inhabit the minds of others and I occasionally got confused as to who was doing what. Sky is over pdf download The various personalities are all complex and well written in particular the veteran whose struggles are chiefly responsible for the book s conflict and tension The dialogue sparkles but some of the longer descriptions lost me and I found my concentration drifting Overall this book was worth the time it took but it is not a light easy read If you like to think hard and work to keep up then this is for you If you like a simple fast paced fable then perhaps not Sky is Over
