J Ponder here s my review grab a copy a really good fun read This is the first book of AJ Ponder s that I ve read and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed myself Intended for middle grade readers I found myself rapidly immersed in Miss Lionheart s danger filled weird and whacky world Quite often I had to remind myself that this book is aimed at a younger audience than myself the fantastic word play and poetic licence Ponder uses works well and is definitely not dumbed down for a younger or older audience At times the story reads like a Sci fi adventure other times elements of fantasy and dark fiction are at play but the overall feel of the story is that of an adventurous and oftentimes hilarious romp through a fantastical world populated by strange beasties and gifted kids destined to save the world from evil.
