Willing to sacrifice her comfort on a gamble, she decides to answer the ad. Will there be enough time to save her family? Will George even be willing to help them? Despite her original motive, will Caroline find love with a man from across the country? The answers for Caroline and her family lie 4000 miles from their home… in the hands of a stranger.

The gambler's bride book summary

An Easy Afternoon ReadThe first story and the others that were included were short sweet and as advertised clean Nothing wrong with them being clean stories with faith included but they are also somewhat light weight stories as well Except for the last one did deal with an unexpected hidden problem with one of the husbands A Bride s Heart Mary Miller This one just didn t work for me First of all I have no idea what year this book took place They even mention something about a new president but they don t even say who the president is I was confused early on because there was a refrigerator in the kitchen I repeat a refrigerator in the kitchen However I assumed it was the 1880s or 90s because gas lamps were mentioned and after just now reading the description I see that I was correct. The Gambler's bridegroom meaning Anyways I felt the whole concept was unrealistic Deciding to marry a complete stranger just because he is wealthy in an effort to save the family business is an odd first choice Especially when she doesn t even know if he will support them in the end if he didn t cough up the money the whole marriage to a stranger thing would ve been for nothing She basically would ve just abandoned her family in a time of need I also found it HIGHLY unlikely and unrealistic that the daughter of a wealthy family would be working as a secretaryAND I would think someone as wealthy as O Doyle would ve been choosy about the wife he took it seems unlikely that someone of his status would run an ad and just accept whoever came Mary Miller Sweet storyI really liked the premise and characters of this story I only wish it could have been longerbut that s not enough for me to take a star away because I thoroughly enjoyed it Mary Miller Four short sweet and clean storiesThese were four short sweet and clean stories They all four needed an epilogue though especially the last two books Mary Miller
