Caravan ( कारवां ) By Shamik Dasgupta Paperback 0989757404 9780989757409 Caravan ( कारवां ) युगों से रक्तपिपासु पिशाचों का एक समूह भारतीय रेगिस्तानों पर नौटंकी एवं सर्कस का वेष धरे भ्रमण करता आ रहा है । वे असंदेही गाँववालों को अपने आहार हेतु लुभाते हैं जिसकी चकाचौंध से अंधे होकर गाँववाले उन्हें अपने गाँव में मृत्यु का तांडव करने का निमंत्रण दे देते हैं । सदियों से इनके अस्तित्व और इनके भयावह कर्मों पर आजतक किसीको न ही शक हुआ एवं न ही किसीकी नजर गयी किन्तु तबतक जबतक की इनके हमले से एक ‘आसिफ’ नामक बच्चा बच नहीं निकला । बड़ा होकर आसिफ एक तस्कर बनता है और एक दिन पकड़ा जाता है । पुलिस ऑफिसर ‘जय’ और आसिफ रेगिस्तान में फस जाते हैं और एक किले में आश्रय लेते हैं जो बॉर्डर सिक्यूरिटी फोर्स के नियंत्रण में आता है , जिसका हेड ऑफिसर दबंग और कट्टर ‘दरोगा भैरो सिंह’ है । उस भयवाह रात में सीमा पर एकबार फिरसे पिशाचों का कारवाँ नजर आता है , आसिफ इससे भयभीत हो जाता है और सभी को सतर्क होने की चेतावनी भी देता है लेकिन कोई भी उसपर यकीन नहीं करता । नौटंकी की चकाचौंध में आसिफ की बात को नकार कर एवं पिशाचों को किले में आमंत्रित करके ये सबसे बड़ी भूल कर देते हैं , फलस्वरूप पिशाचों के रक्तपात से ये रात एक खुनी रात में तब्दील हो जाती है । आसिफ एकबार तो इस कारवाँ के कहर से बच चुका है , पर क्या वह इस बार भी अपने असंभव लक्ष्य में सफल होगा ?

I liked this than I had expected Very unique story line of vampire slasher horror genre unlike any I have seen in an Indian graphic novel that too in Hindi Quite a bold mature narrative Characterizations languages and accents are sufficiently detailed and localized to give an authentic Indian feel to the story.
