THE SOUND OF THE NORTH. (Auditorium)This book written by an Italian super fan of the Norwegian jazz scene Luca Vitali has not only opened my eyes to the incredibly diverse and rich musical talent in Norway but has also provided a model that I hope other authors will follow for examining the evolution of jazz and improvised music in other countries I really hope that someone will do the same excellent job of documenting the jazz community in my native Scotland My only wish is that the book also included a comprehensive index but given how much detail Vitali has included that may well have added dozens of extra pages I m now eagerly looking forward to exploring some of the dozens of recordings and musicians that are new to me Thank you Luca Vitali 9788898599530
