Site_link post a commentAn eerie book which will spook you Very well written and short I liked the road to self discovery and forgiveness that the characters took in this book ebook OMG I actually loved this story I m not the biggest fantasy or magic fan but this definitely won me over I love how Renna grew from the quiet magically incompetent woman to a woman who could make a stand even in the face of her dead lover crush. Book the galloway road book review Despite the length of the story there was an obvious character arc the plot was confusing at times and I kept waiting for the romance to slap me in the face but when it did it was subtle and so beautiful. Ebook the galloway road free The part with the Barrow king was amazing and the song the musicians made up was just as amazing I m a fan of stories with some darkness whether psychological or emotional and my craving was satisfied in this book. The galloway restaurant portpatrick I m definitely going to be stalking this author from now on ebook Renna is a young mage on her way to her first job Her traveling companions include a pair of musicians specifically requested by Renna s new employer plus Brett the mercenary hired to protect them all Brett is closed mouthed about himself and his past and Renna has secrets of her own However none of that may matter if they can t manage to survive the Galloway Road s deadly horrors. Gallows road book review This story takes place over the course of 11 days and mostly features the group traveling from one inn to another The beginning was boring dull and a little confusing although the Galloway Road s creepy atmosphere eventually grew on me as did Renna and Brett sort of A word of warning some of the descriptions are gruesome The Galloway Road is called that because it s lined with gallows and gibbets Sometimes the people Renna Brett and the musicians pass are dead and sometimes they re not Honestly if I had been Renna or the musicians Galloway Road alone would have had me questioning the wisdom of agreeing to work for Lord Galloway. Book the galloway road restaurant Okay on to the characters The musicians made so little of an impact on me that I had to check the story just to make sure I had the number of characters right I had thought there were three musicians not two Brett was an intriguing character apparently competent and yet prone to self destructive behavior he d been banned from at least one or two inns because of his drinking Rennawas just there I never felt like I really knew her beyond the most surface level I did gasp at the big revelation about her but that was in large part because I hadn t noticed any sign of it in her behavior or thoughts up to that point This bugged me a bit because the event had happened so recently I suppose it could be explained away as emotional numbness on her part but still. Epub pub free read online The main reason I got this story was because it was one of Less Than Three Press s recent releases in their asexual category Renna was asexual possibly homoromantic depending on the specifics of her feelings for her best friend There was a hint of something that might have been ace related angst at one point Renna wondered if she was stone hearted cruel hearted 37 It was a bit ambiguous though and might have also been inspired by the thing that happened shortly before she was hired by Lord Galloway I honestly don t know. Book the galloway road book review I appreciated what this story tried to do but overall my reaction was just meh I didn t care enough about the characters for the ending to have the kind of emotional impact that it should have had Also I hate to say this but I laughed a bit during some of the events in the tomb I know that stuff was probably supposed to be horrifying scary but I kept imagining B movie special effects. Book the galloway road restaurant Rating Note I might have opted to give this 3 stars if I had rated and reviewed it right after finishing it However my thoughts have had time to settle and I think 2 stars is appropriate There just wasn t enough there in terms of content characters or world building Original review posted on A Library Girl s Familiar Diversions ebook This short read managed to produce a rich landscape in an otherwise undeveloped world with characters that could have done with a lot depth It s interesting and enjoyable as far as it goes but it feels incomplete. The lincoln highway kindle Renna is a strange one a seemingly timid mage who is well born and clearly has doubts about her abilities We get a few hints of her past but not much and I would have liked a lot from her about her struggles with magic and family connections not to mention just what her feelings actually were towards her companions. Book the galloway road trip Speaking of those companions they too could have done with a lot fleshing out The musicians aren t really introduced while Brett left me confused at times And although this was listed as a romance on NetGalley albeit an asexual one there really isn t any romance here Despite Renna s claims to have loved Naize there s no depth to her emotions to suggest well anything about how she really feels. Galloway road peterlee When it comes to the descriptions of the Galloway Road and its surroundings however that s where this story shone for me It s bleak and beautiful and familiar and even a little frightening at times though it did stray a bit too close to LotR s barrow wights but Tolkien casts a long shadow when it comes to these types of things Still for me this side of the story showed definite promise I just wish the characters and the world itself had been given as much detail and attention. Book the galloway road book Overall this is an intriguing little read It isn t perfect but if you like magical road trips with a ballad or two along the way then maybe you ll enjoy this I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ebook ebook

Book the galloway road trip I really appreciated and admired the way the author used medieval language and even song along side modern references Good research was obvious not only in the language but also in reference to the food and attire they wore.
Books by scott galloway Not a overly cheerful book but academically well written and flawless but I would have liked to see a less soulful side of Renna who only brightened up at the very end Doubtless this ending was designed by the author but as a reader I would have enjoyed a little banter and a fraction levity ebook I m currently going through my kindle collection and rating books I read last year For the exceptional few that I still recall well enough to I thought I d leave a brief review I read this fantasy novella a few months ago squeezed in between The Kingkiller Chronicles and a Game of Thrones book I forget which one exactly The fact that this stands out from those two and the fact I can still remember it so well speaks volumes for it.
Book the galloway road restaurant This as mentioned is a novella and you should go into it expecting that Personally I love novellas and I read this in one lazy Sunday afternoon evening The only problem with it being a novella was that it left me wanting However in its short size it is a very complete and realised story It s a fantasy based road trip essentially and it s a story that deftly deals with a bunch of interesting themes including loss friendship growing up and acceptance The protagonist s character arc works well and is rewarding for the reader.
D a galloway books There is a tantalising glimpse of a wonderful and exciting fantasy world magic and myth music and lore There are elements of Lord of the Rings and the Kingkiller Chronicles embedded within it and fans of either will enjoy this I am in fact convinced that the barrow scene late on in the book would have made Tolkien proud I hope that the world here is expanded on some day.
The galloway woodbrook I don t have much to say without turning it into a review with spoilers but would I recommend it Yes I already have to a bunch of people and will continue to do so ebook I received a copy of this book from Inked Rainbow Reads in return for an honest review.
Book the galloway road inn This is a bit difficult for me to review as a F F read or as a specifically asexual read The reason is that there isn t much interaction between Renna and any other woman What we do get is memories of her best friend in university Naize We find out that Renna loved her and that Naize died but I m not sure I really get the sense that Renna is female oriented or that she had a romantic relationship with Naize that was asexual Truthfully it seems as though the story is arguably neither and if I hadn t gotten it through Inked I might not have even given either moniker a thought.
Book the galloway road nyc What I can say is that the read is a good fantasy story with magic ballads and mystical places filled with the unrestful dead It s a journey that s a type of coming of age for Renna where she learns to believe in herself and the value of her companions I will say that I never really expected her to become so close to Brett There was a subtle lesson in that relationship for Renna and she not only learned it but it became the basis for what allowed her to enter the dark place and stand tall with resolve and bravery The confrontation with the magical being who wore Naize s face allowed Renna to forgive herself and in doing so she was able to get past the last blocks to her power.
Epub the galloway road book In all a pretty good read for me since I like fantasy books but again not really sure there was any overt evidence for the descriptors I was given ebook This story would have needed full novel length and not novella length I didn t mind the fact that we weren t given too many details about the world building and especially how the magic works That is OK for me in a novella But the character development wasless development and jumping from one point to the next A character doesn t want to talk about something Time passes Now they do The heroine is not confident in her abilities Time passes Now she is But as a reader I just didn t have the feeling that any of the things that happened while time passed would have changed the characters that much since they mainly were the characters travel along a road with lots of gallows on the sides and sleep in inns.
D a galloway books There is definitely potential in the story the characters are interesting and if there was a full length novel about them I would consider reading it but this one fell flat ebook THE GALLOWAY ROAD was a fun short and creepy read that I m glad I got around to reading First because yay ace protagonist and the rep is good as in I can t remember major flaws or heeh that s iffy moment not as in holy shit this is IT But also because this book puts a lot of emphasis on friendship and its value and manages to develop the characters involved in said friendship fast enough despite the limited space My main only gripe is that the editing is irregular like say random tense changes that don t serve purpose and I feel like it could have been polished .
The galloway law group llc If you love playing Skyrim and want an interesting fantasy read recreating the first creeps of going into a barrow hill you ought to pick this one up Oh and because I know death of LGBTQIAP characters can be very important for people to track the MC in this was in a relationship with another girl who died before the story takes place and this is important to the story I feel like it was treated with respect and not just a plot point or died because lesbians but YMMV on this ebook.,
Book the galloway road nyc From my understanding of this novel it was about a young person coming to terms with their sexuality However this is the type of novel open to the readers own interpretation.
D a galloway books It was indeed a long and at times melancholy road The descriptions of the dead dire The gradual acceptance by Renna was slow and at times frustrating:
Royal road to epub My main concern with this novel was the lack of humour to counterbalance the sombre and at times gloomy atmosphere and conversation
