There is no other way to see this except as a product of its time and place Important only for historical reasons UK Comic Books Mix of cartoon and text items Some of the text items are fiction and some non fiction The split between comic and prose seems to be 50 50 At 8 pages it is a bit brief though that does mean it can be read quite quickly which makes it great when you need a quick read Some of the material is interesting some not It is however a good look into what was deemed entertainment in the Victorian era Although most of the first page cover is given over to a large single panel cartoon which I didn t understand and to a short comic strip which I did though the last panel was very dark the bottom right corner was the beginning of a true crime story It detailed the crime which at times seemed a bit of a comedy of errors and the punishment of the perpetrators It seemed that all the men were hanged while the woman were burned to death A little gruesome for what I think is supposed to be a humourous periodical Ah well the Victorian era was different than is ours In conclusion I would say this is a decent item which gives us a bit of a look into another era Happy reading UK Comic Books
