Especially because this story took place over a period of time So the mistakes they made early on made sense it was typical mistakes of young people This was just everything Feels like I ve fallen down the rabbit hole of Twyla and I m not ready to leave So let s see which of her stories I will read next Catching Day Chasing Day 2 Chase and Day len are really likable characters As characters they made some good choices that they always followed up with some horrible choices So I went back and forth between cheering them on and wanting to slap them for their stupidity There isn t anything super unique about this story but it was an enjoyable read Catching Day Chasing Day 2 I loved this two part epic of a love story So many emotional highs and lows Really a well crafted piece of work Two things I didn t like the parts where the main characters fall in love with and have sex with other people but I recognise it was important in showing how two kids mature into adulthood.

Making mistakes along the way in all those years Day never thought to try and loose weight Even for her own health So I know some people will take issue with this but why does Ms Turner and many other curvy girl romance writers pair up fat women with men who clearly work out and do so for their own health yet the women feel no compunction to do the same I d have thought a sexy fit man would be motivation enough to get to the gym. Catching Day book All round a five star read Catching Day Chasing Day 2 Beautiful love story Can I just say I love and I mean really love Twyla Turner s books She is such a great writer and fully develops the characters in her book and the way she writes the love stories is so realistic and fun I love this book and the previous one.

Whitney Taylor I was kind of glad Day didn t tell him about Lyric because it drove home her pain with what he did when he married her nemesis I liked that Pat stuck her nose in when she felt Day was taking too long to tell Chase about the baby by sending him the ticket to the symphony Pat stuck her nose in at the right time whenever she needed to She knew what was going on with them since they were teens I m sure she knew they were having sex under her roof She just didn t actively catch them I loved the music theme names for their daughters It made sense since she was a member of the symphony orchestra This story was fantastic both Chasing Day and Catching Day I am glad they persevered True love and maturity triumphed over all their hurtful.

But my head is just blocked right now I don t know what it is about this book or if it just said it an obnoxiously amount of times but it s as if I was seeing it in every other sentence and CARAMEL Caramel skin Caramel thighs Caramel shoulders Caramel eye wait nope wait those were deep chocolate Don t get it twisted And it s a big pet peeve of mine so that definitely didn t help anything. Goodness I love Twyla Turner s workJust when I thought I couldn t love her writing she ups the bar I absolutely LOVED this series or duet whatever you want to call it Twyla Turner has a way of making fictional characters feel like real people like I actually know them I didn t want to leave their world No two people were deserving of one another and a HEA than Day and Chase I just loved them Even their dumb decisions made sense and I enjoyed reading this beautiful story Great job Twyla Catching Day Chasing Day 2 1. Catching dayytona fox 75 Stars Too much sugar for a dime and not enough for fifteen cents This phase of Day s and Chase s story would have been better had it been combined with the first book of this minus some of the space filling time consuming empty scenes and the omission of the drama for drama s sake Every life altering event know to man occurs within the 170 pages of this story make up to break up seesaw love life alcohol abuse death of a loved one life threatening health issue of a parent poor self image spite and revenge deceit and infidelity and la piece de resistance each protagonist enters into a short lived dysfunctional marriage topped by a secret baby It is hard to successfully and artfully navigate a reader through this much drama in a 170 pages and this story is enjoyable read I could see the growth in Turner s writing from her debut work in the Struck series For that I was relieved because although I own her scarred series I have been hesitant to delve into her books again With that stated the second book in this series proved to be less impressive One of the strengths in Chasing Day was Turner s building of the heroine and heroes relationship from friends to lovers The pacing was steady allowing us to get to know these characters their inner workings flaws and attributes and how those things shape the bond between them Where things started to take a turn was toward the end when it seemed Turner hit some kind of wall and decided to rush the major conflict that caused a separation between the two lovers Instead of taking her time to explore it in a thoughtful way it s presented in a whirlwind of a chapter that leads into the second and concluding book in the series To me this set the tone of the finale and did so in a fractured way. Catching Day bookworm Where we should see growth between two characters coming into their adulthood and learning from their mistakes instead we see immaturity and actions that make little to know sense An example of this can be found in Chase s actions once he gets his life back on track He makes a decision that is completely out of the realm of reality Given his experiences and what we know about him up until this point his actions make minus zero sense Toward the end of the first book the same can be said for Day Completely illogical decisions that do no mesh with the characters we ve come to know I know this is fiction but even fantasy must stay true not only to the characters as the author presents them but to the basic tenets of logic Without it you re just writing nonsense Another weak point that can be found throughout the series but most egregiously in the concluding book Catching Day is Day s incessant stuttering. Catching daynix Since the author does not describe her as having a speech impediment this only proved to make Day come off as extremely immature In the second book she is supposed to be in her twenties to late thirties and she s still stuttering like a fool in simple conversations Makes no sense and comes off as completely silly I find this to be a common thread in what I ve read of Twyla Turner s works adult women with low self esteem who are completely lacking maturity and self awareness This is why the first book is stronger than the second The young love angle was written better and seems to be the comfortable place for Turner to write in When the characters became adults things fell apart because the foundation of their adult selves was never written strongly to begin with Even in times of strife there should have been some tangible growth between these two Instead Turner relied on worn out tropes to create melodramatic conflict that didn t add substance to the story she seemed to be building from the beginning. Catching Day booklet Last the intimate scenes weren t as plentiful and outrageous as in the Struck series thank the universe There were some eye rolling moments but overall Turner got the temperature close to right I especially loved the Cello love scene Interesting enough it did not take place between the two main characters Good writing all the same. Catching dayne Final WordsI could write and get very nit picky but I think I ve given you enough to consider whether you want to take a chance on this series or not Overall I enjoyed it and I will continue to drop in to see where Twyla goes with her future works In this genre it s usually the characters that make or break the story for me For the most part these were solid though I give the edge to Chase Even when he made illogical choices his character remained consistent and he was someone I really wanted to win I ve already stated the drawbacks to the series and unfortunately one of the main ones is the heroine Day She leaves the story uneven in many ways but it has enough legs to keep you moving steadily to the end without wanting to throw your Kindle at the wall My final verdictMy rating for Catching Day An okay but not as good as the first time 3. Catching dayyan eng 9 Catching Day Chasing Day 2 I wanted to take a day or two after reading the conclusion to the Chase and Daylen series to let things marinate before automatically rushing off to write this review In just 175 pages a lot did happen but what stuck out the most was the sex because there was so much of it I ended up skimming and the breeziness with how life changing events happened and the characters responses to them which often their responses were lackluster It was like this happened and here was the result Nothing was delved into not like I wanted certain events to be delved into but a lot happened that just made me impatient to get to the end I don t want to make this too spoilery but Daylen and Chase made some boneheaded decisions that took years to correct and in the end I don t feel either of what they went through had changed them or even had a profound effect Well let me correct myself Daylen grew as a musician but besides that she was still the stuttering rosy cheeked blushing 9 year old stuck in a 34 year old woman s body Chase He became less swoon worthy and pumped up on the cheese Umm I don t have much else to say about this The critiques I made about the writing in the first novel they still plague this one I m not sure how to do a search of how often a word appears in a novel but I m sure I read the word little 75 times in the last quarter of the book Do I recommend this series Sure I guess It wasn t terrible but it sadly isn t memorable either Catching Day Chasing Day 2 2017 I ve never read a book that spanned over so much time like this I really liked it in that sense because it was different and it was just a nice change Very nice I d say it s nice to grow with the characters but every time the author made time fly by and the characters met up again she d say something like and I quote Day looked exactly the same except curvy or Chase looked just as I remembered except lean with muscle or something very close to that So I can t really say I grew with them because they didn t really grow apparently lol. Catching Day booking 5 stars because I definitely loved the first book I think You know what I got from this book Freakin caramel Okay not really I m sure I got from it but I didn t hate it It was just nice Good One of those stories I wasn t ecstatic to write a review about and didn t exactly know how to rate immediately after finishing BUT I did do lots and lots of highlighting It had its moments and I did appreciate the humor and the couple of emotional moments I could get from it.
