an insight on formation organization and activities of Pakistani Taliban in Pashtun belt specifically FATA Talibanization very informative book by one of my favorite columnist Aqeel yousafzai sahab the quality of the book is its unbiased and multidimensional view of the reasons for the formation of tehreek taliban pakistan in FATA and settled areas of Pakhtunkhwa particularly in sawat as far as the emergence of TTP in FATA i had previous knowledge about their origin and organization but the insight on sawat was something new for me was always confused when people related the low literacy rate of FATA the sole reason behind the militancy there thought sawat was among the cities with highest literacy rates in Pakistan the why people easily fell to taliban the reasons writer stated for flourishing of fundamentalist ideology in sawat was state negligence to formulate an alternative system after their amalgamation in Pakistan backing of these entities by political parties for their own gains as they were not aware of the great storm coming was another reason of strengthening of this particular ideology. طالبانائزیشن [Talibanization] book mockup last but not the least state turn deaf ears to some sane voices against extremists and left them helpless role of secular parties particularly ANP to counter this religious extremism is also discussed despite being an ANP supporter I agree with writer that ANP did nt played it role in the start years to counter their narrative the way it was supposed to play and going to an agreement with extremists was their another mistake Other aspect of this militancy were also given due shares these includes involvement of other nations and particularly those elements of Afghan Taliban who were disappointed with pakistan s U turn on Afghan Taliban policy and pakhtun nationalist in Afghanistan. طالبانائزیشن [Talibanization] pdfsand although this book was published in 2012 but most of the data and discussion is up to April 2009 wish Aqeel sahab writes it second Edition as he is considered a balanced analyst on Af pak relations and has first hand knowledge about the ground realities will recommend this book for those interested in rise of Taliban in FATA and Sawat Urdu
