Great insights and humour about Singapore s past Lovely illustrations for social studies target reading group aged 10 to 12 English Yes fine this is a whistle stop tour of historical events in Singapore written for young adults with some very questionable cheesy humour thrown in to keep it interesting but it is also quite informative and useful to someone like me who has recently come to live here and could use some help understanding just how it became the place that it is today If nothing else it alerted me to the fact there s a weird theme park called Haw Par Villa which I reckon I ll go visit this very evening English Really enjoyed this one Lots of great history about Singapore written in a fun clear and easy to read way Great non fiction text which is surprisingly comprehensive Particularly recommended to G6 students new to Singapore English A very informative and enjoyable book on Singapore s history for both young and old wish this had been around when I was in school English One of my students lent me this saying that It is very interesting And indeed you uncover little unknown nuggets of Singapore history along the way Major stories are also told in an easy to read manner Would recommend for both children and adults and as a souvenir for visitors to Singapore English
