The Elizabethans (Elizabethans #1-3) By Margaret Brazear Kindle Edition The Elizabethans (Elizabethans #1 3) THE ELIZABETHANS TRILOGY THE EARLS JEALOUSY Lord Michael Melford loves his wife. He loves her so much that when he believes she loves another man, he decides to let her go to him. But after months of anguish, he set out to forgive her and take her back. He could not be wrong, could he? It could not be that while he is determined to forgive her, she is wondering if she will ever forgive him? THE VISCOUNTS DIVORCE James has high standards and believes a womans virtue should be without blemish. He thinks himself fortunate in his own wife, a woman who meets his high standards. He is very possessive of his wife, rarely lets her out of his sight, except for two days a month when she visits her father. But when she fails to return from her usual visit, he is devastated to search for her and find she has not been visiting her father after all. She harbours a secret which will shatter his comfortable world. LORD JOHNS FOLLY John is the youngest of the Melford brothers and, as is normal in his position, has no lands, no income and no occupation. He decides to take himself to London to seek his fortune and succeeds in impressing Queen Elizabeth I by defeating a plot against the throne. As a reward, he is given the estates of one of the traitors but before he can begin his journey to his new land, he receives a visit from Lady Geraldine, the former betrothed of his late brother, Malcolm. She gives him a letter from Malcolm, asking him to care for his peasant mistress, Heather. He sets out to find her and ensure her safety, but finding her in dire straits, he takes her with him to his estate and they are content together, until the Queen decides to give him a bride of noble birth. He will never be allowed to marry a peasant, but if he refuses the marriage the Queen has commanded, he will lose everything and so will his brothers. Is there a solution to his dilemma or must he part with the woman he loves in order to save his brothers from ruin? 5 purely because there were a lot of typos in the kindle edition which did take me out of the story especially in the first book I did however really enjoy the trilogy and would recommend her books English
