Until you re fifteen you re obedient You re raised like the perfect child On Abia s fifteenth birthday she strays from what she has been taught her whole life and discovers something huge going on inside the government With the help of her new group and her friend Shaye they will fight for what s right The ManiacsThe story is about a small town named Hamington where the public authority didn t allow the residents to be who they were until they had turned sixteen They weren t allowed to do or own anything that showcased their personalities When Abia the main character and her best friend Shaye turn sixteen they must decide which path they will take in life They didn t want to be like every other person in the country Over time a rebel group was formed named The Maniacs They left society on their sixteenth birthdays after rejecting everything they had been taught Even though they were the rebels they occasionally visited Hamington Abia and Shaye make the decision to find out about The Maniacs and determine whether or not they would like to join their group Are they a part of The Maniacs Or opt to take a different route These were the thoughts that crossed my mind Something changes in Hamington as the story progresses and the Maniacs want to end the cycle in which Hamington lived They needed to begin an upheaval and bring down the public authority They choose to kill the governor and attempt to make a strategy for it Will they be successful Would they be able to prevent the government from carrying out their previous actions As the story progresses the two best friends fall in love with each other and eventually escape Hamington to a town called Rosebury that was unlike Hamington Everyone was free to do as they pleased Not long after arriving at there they meet with the governor and figure out there were eight additional towns other than Hamington They decide to devise a strategy for forming the Re United States of America with the help of other groups They travel from one sector to another and have meetings with their respective higher authorities Some agree to come onboard and some reject their proposal Will they be able to bring the nation back together Or are they going to give up and return to Rosebury Read this book right away to find out what happens Overall a very interesting story The book kept me glued to my seat till the very end Highly recommended from my side Would love to read by this author 90
