People are mysteriously disappearing on Moonbase Laika They return with strange bite marks and no idea where they have been Can the Eleventh Doctor get to the bottom of what s going on Doctor Who Horror of the Space SnakesAuthor Gary Russell brings us an adventure with the doctor as he sets out alone after the events of series season 6 The TARDIS lands on the moon in June of 2017 and finds out that UNIT was setting up a base in order to keep track of approaching armada s etc But not too soon had the the doctor landed that he meet someone who would put the base in jeopardy eight years later in 2025 when the World State held a contest to bring a web star and his hostess as well as two kids who had created designs that would go up around the base in order to make it feel like home to those who work there The doctor comes back at this time and things start happening as the space snakes bite and control their victims in order to get a valuable item back from the stations vault called HEART Soon after the Doctor and the kids find out why the space snakes did what they did I won t spoil the ending but I do recommend this quick read to all Doctor Who fans Paperback I didn t realize when I bought this that it was a YA book It s okay.

In these post Harry Potter days for adults to read YA though right For what it is this was pretty good Nothing Earth shattering but good Paperback I know author Garry Russell and I usually enjoy his novels a lot But I m afraid that I found this one hard to like There are snakes on the Moon that are slithering into the Moonbase there A group of kids who ve won a contest are stranded at the base and the Eleventh Doctor turns up to save everyone Then there are a bunch of irritating adults who generally just get in the way Paperback Another great read Paperback Undemanding YA adventuring with the 11th Doctor kids on a moonbase in the future but it s a pleasant way to pass the time It s helped by Gary Russell s fine characterization of Matt Smith s Doctor and a well judged use of fanwank Paperback
