The Wind in the Fire is the recounting of the two years from the time I first saw the Boston Marathon and fell in love with it in 1964 to the time I became the first woman to ever run the Boston Marathon in 1966 During that time I trained and followed my spiritual path This is the story of that journey Wind in the FireAs the first woman to run the Boston Marathon make no mistake this woman is a freaking LEGEND Her narrative in this book though often goes into some philosophical almost trippy tangents If it wasn t for the fact that she convincingly tells us that she is clean and sober I d call these passages psychedelic However my respect for her had me skim over these passages quickly to get to the meat of her story and I liked it and admire her for sharing it her way Paperback I gave up reading it Paperback
