Wow Daisy a reporter who is tired of her same thing different day decides to walk into a dance studio and meets the hot instructor Dante who is then she bargains for With murders going on all around in her little town and Daisy being the reporter she is tries to get to the bottom of it all This book was so good well written great characters Brenda Westfall I was gifted a copy Of this This is one Of The best vampire boom i hace read yet Its not The same as alot Of The other ones Brenda Westfall Meet Daisy Daisy is a reporter for the local paper and she works hand in hand sometimes with her friend Mitchell a member of the local police department Daisy is just leading a regular but uneventful life One evening after spending time with her friends Daisy decides to head home on her own But she decides to stop and go dancing From there things begin to change drastically The next day the young man that she was dancing with is found dead The thing is is that his body isn t the only one that is found In a matter of a few days three drained bodies have been found Daisy is trying to figure out to one of the victims when things begin to turn even weirder She meets a young girl and while the girl gives her some information she also warns Daisy to not trust one of the police officers Daisy s gut tells her that she should heed the girl s warning Daisy s life only continues to get complicated when drama with her friends comes knocking When Daisy finally decides to go take dance lessons she crosses paths with a vampire Now the question arises is he the only one in town Or are there Can he help her discover what has been going on all this time with the strange animal deaths and now the humans Or will he only lead her to trouble The Dance Instructor by Brenda Westfall is a vampire romance novel heavily laced with mystery and lots of drama This is the first book that I have read by this author I am an avid vampire novel fan so I thought that this book would be a good fit for me I like that we are introduced to Daisy from the beginning and given some background on her and her friends It does a good job setting the stage for the characters Daisy seems job focused but she makes time for her friends She s an interesting character for the most part Dante is an interesting character as well He is immediately fascinated with Daisy and you can tell that he loves what he does You can definitely see the chemistry between them I like this story but the story wasn t easy to get through I guess one could say that I just couldn t grasp the author s writing style When the author starts the story off the story is written in first person Daisy is telling the story and we re following along Then somewhere the author transitions into third person I found some of the sentences to be odd and they don t flow very well For me it s a bit off putting and distracting I also feel like this book needs to be looked over for editorial issues There are moments of where exclamations seem to simply be ignored and not punctuated correctly I feel it disrupts the flow of the story I liked reading this story but because of the aforementioned issues I am rating this book 4 out of 5 stars It s a good story and I think with some work that it could be a really good novel that would be worthy of five stars But as is I can t give it that The characters are well done and engaging The storyline is a truly interesting one but I feel that the dialogue between the characters and sentence structures take away from the story bringing it down when it could be so much I may read another book by this author in the future to see if they continue to improve in their craft Brenda Westfall
