HAPPILY by Sophie Tanner By Sophie Tanner

HAPPILY by Sophie Tanner By Sophie Tanner Kindle Edition HAPPILY by Sophie Tanner How far will you go for your Happily Ever After? Chloe Usher’s had enough of being asked why shes ‘still single’; people can’t seem to understand why she’s not freaking out about the slippery slope to spinsterhood. But, as far as Chloe’s concerned, life is sweet; she’s happy, she loves her job, her friends and her flat share next to Brighton beach. One summer evening, after being told that she will never know what love is until she has children, she decides to say ‘actually, I do!’ and announces to her friends that she’s going to marry herself. She’s not quite prepared for the huge reaction to her news on social media and finds herself thrust firmly into the public eye; suddenly she’s a spokesperson for every crazy cat lady out there. With the warm support of her colourful extended family, Chloe attempts to justify her self wedding and the events that unfold take her on a bumpy journey of self discovery making exciting new connections and settling old ghosts. This is a cheeky, original and light heartedly subversive tale that challenges the notion of ‘settling down’.

Happily incentive

There s a certain optimism that pervades the book Chloe is an incredibly likeable protagonist my number one criteria for any novel who you ll be rooting for from the start My favourite character though was definitely Uncle Leonard who very much reminded me of someone I know. Happily ever after book I would definitely recommend this book it s great for lovers of chick lit but also for those who normally run screaming from the genre and prefer a little social commentary on their Kindle HAPPILY by Sophie Tanner I was quite curious about the main subject of this book self marriage as I had never heard of such a thing previously and I must admit I thought it was a bit odd.

Writer PR content consultant and sologamist I am Sophie Tanner You can follow me on Instagram TheSologamist or check out my website www. Happily married uk I live in Kemptown Village Brighton with my bumptious Labrador Ella It is a mere romp from the beach and suits us very well I am eternally curious about human behaviour and have a strong interest in literature music and theatre I have always been an avid reader I absolutely love to curl up with a book I am so delighted to see my first novel Reader I Married Me published by Trapeze It is a cheeky light heartedly subversive tale about a girl who decides to marry herself I strongly believe that all good relationships begin with the self and that self love should be celebrated And reader I did actually marry myself in a cultural ceremony in Brighton in 2015 HAPPILY by Sophie TannerThemes Feminism LGBTQ Self realisation Friendship Activism HopeFinally a story that s both easy to read and has some bite to it Based on the author s own experience of self marriage we follow Chloe from lightbulb moment through to a wedding all of her own with a whole host of interesting and engaging characters along the way. Happily divorced Shrugging off the tired old cliches of chick lit this book is all about finding happily ever after all by yourself A refreshing and highly relevant read for most young people today and just why Upon reading though I can really understand the concept and why some people including the main character Chloe would want to do it I researched the author too and discovered that she d had her own self wedding and this book is loosely based on her. Happily joint It really stands for the idea that women don t a man to be happy and it gets incredibly loathing later in life being asked the same questions A girl like you should be married have kids insert situation here by now Saying that I did think that Chloe s decision was quite sudden with no real build up to it and that s the only thing that has brought my rating down slightly as I would have liked a bit background beforehand. Pdf apply ocr The rest of the story is brilliant really down to earth and written with a lot of humour from Sophie It covers many issues than just self marriage too feminism homosexuality cross dressing drugs alternative cooperative living arranged marriage wildlife poaching and much It seems like a lot of subjects but these are real things and they all tie together so well The other characters are all completely likeable well most of them anyway and I especially love Uncle Leonard The descriptive writing of the locations made me want to be there too. Happilylover.com sunday message 5 HAPPILY by Sophie Tanner Full review now up on my blog from the very start it s clear that Happily is going to be an unorthodox love story The author throws off all the usual chicklit romance cliches not least the very important fact that this is not a boy meets girl scenario from the beginning It s actually quite refreshing to read something so unique from such an overdone genre As far as lead characters go Chloe is great to read about Her life is incredibly varied ranging from family drama to a wide range of vastly different friends to her own realisations of acceptance and loving herself Chloe isn t the only one in Happily who leads an interesting life though The whole book is jam packed full of vibrant and colourful characters who really bring the story to life through a myriad of viewpoints situations and intriguing subplots. Happily in spanish Of course it s impossible to review this book without talking about the concept of marrying yourself Regardless of your opinions on the matter and whether it s right or wrong you can t deny that it makes for an interesting debate Should people be legally able to marry themselves Several people in the book itself raise the argument that it s actually incredibly self centred while others Chloe included counter this by saying that it s just an awareness of the ability to love yourself Chloe is right in the fact that in today s society you re almost seen as incomplete if you aren t married by a certain age and the whole notion that you need a partner to be happy is sadly a view shared by many people The fact that Chloe is able although admittedly not legally to marry herself is actually quite empowering Despite all the media attention she receives for her marriage in the book her reasons for wanting to go ahead with the marriage are clear It s important for everyone to love themselves and feel comfortable and happy with their lives with or without a partner and for me this book epitomises that HAPPILY by Sophie Tanner Happily is an unorthodox tale to counteract the usual chick lit formula of girl meets boy and lives happily ever after Very early on we learn that the main character Chloe has decided to marry herself rather than wait for Mr Right she s not a hippy or a sandwich short of a picnic but she s tired of being told by society that you need a partner to complete you However she soon faces a battle for her self wedding an important rite of passage to be acknowledged The story is set in Brighton but the action also moves along the coast to Devon Chloe quickly attracts media attention such as the critical Karen a journalist for Women s Life and it s interesting to see how she deals with this when the issue of marriage is a personal one for her The novel also has a basis in reality as the author did actually marry herself in a Brighton ceremony last year as part of the Brighton Festival Personally I don t think I could marry myself but I did enjoy exploring the issues around it in this book Chloe has a wide supporting cast of friends and family particularly her Uncle Leonard and we see them all help her through the logistics of organising a ground breaking ceremony these characters also provide the author with a chance to explain Chloe s back story I did find it a struggle to keep up with all the names and identities of the characters but obviously you can flick back to find out who s who If you re looking for a quirky read that will really make you think and will explore deeper issues than those covered by the usual chick lit give this book a go HAPPILY by Sophie Tanner
