And Molly s detective boyfriend seems to focus his attention on Anne Sean is severely injured on the job and Molly and her friend Olivia take over the investigation on their own Molly must prove her mother is innocent I love this series and can t wait for the next book The characters are well developed and easy to imagine as real people The setting is like many small towns I am familiar with in which it seems everyone knows everyone else s business There are no lulls in the plot and you don t want to set the book Kindle down for a minute If you haven t read the first book you can pick up here without trouble.

But it is not without a few bumps along the way One huge bump happens when a person from his past comes to Destiny with only 1 thing on her mind So Molly definitely has her hands full One drawback to her character is how upset she gets when Sean doesn t share his investigation findings with her I understand her mother is a suspect but he is just doing his job and trying to avoid get kicked off the case because he is dating the main suspect s daughter. This past spring when I saw a several book review bloggers showcase RAISIN THE DEAD the second book in the Bread and Batter mystery series by Karoline Barrett I immediately wanted to take a closer look As soon as I read the description of the book I knew I wanted to read it since it combines some of my favorite things a bakery a library and a murder mystery While I have not read the first book in this series yet I found RAISIN THE DEAD a delightful read and easy to jump in and get to know the characters I enjoyed that the book was character driven and gave greater details and insight into Molly and her blossoming relationship with Detective Sean Corsino Molly also has a close relationship with her mother When Anne is being questioned by Sean Molly has conflicted emotions but ultimately knows her mother deserves her loyalty over her feelings for Sean Molly is also surrounded by a group of fun loving supportive friends and I adored the clever name of their book club The Destiny Divas The author also comes up with other creative names for shops such as Barking Mad Books and the Bread and Batter Bakery which makes me want to visit the quaint town of Destiny The mystery had some twists and turns that kept me guessing and turning pages while the subplots and conclusion were wrapped up nicely Raisin the Dead Bread u0026 Batter Mystery second part and I didn t read them back to back and I didn t have to go to the first book to refresh.
