The first in a planned trilogy written by husband and wife authors Judy and Pete Ratto EVERYTHING TO LOSE is a suspenseful mystery featuring Private Investigator Lucas Holt a former NYPD detective and Ex Delta Force now a specialist in kidnap recovery Against his better judgement Holt accepts a case that he is emotionally connected with that goes back 15 years and involves a senator running for President Teaming up with a small town female sheriff Holt faces danger and confronts demons from his past The hint of romance between Holt and Sheriff Maddie is well written as is the mystery s surprising twist I thoroughly enjoyed this book that I was given in exchange for an honest review and look forward to reading Holt s next adventure that is previewed at the back Highly recommended Mystery Thriller Suspense ARC received in exchange for an honest review. Everything to lose book This is a very different genre for me and I was afraid that I wouldn t enjoy it but found myself pulled into the story from the very beginning I felt like I was playing Clue again and I love that The suspense throughout the book left me eager to finish and often times I was fighting sleep late at night not wanting to stop Lucas Lucas Lucas Where do I start I immediately like the main character Lucas Holt A private investigator now he still struggles with the lost of his kidnapped daughter his failed marriage and the case he couldn t close when he was a Detective A mysterious notes find him suddenly elbows deep in a race to find a missing girl for a new client But what he doesn t realize is that this new case might hold the answers he has been desperately searching for. Everything to lose pdf free I am eager to read on and see how the rest of Lucas story unfolds I am also interested in seeing if he pursues a relationship with the sheriff I think they would be perfect together The romantic element to this suspenseful read was definitely an added bonus. Everything to lose book cover The story is filled with twists and turns as the plot constantly takes a new direction as clues are found Everyone is hiding something and at the end the reasons for the manhunt seems so vain when looking at the results Everyone also seems to be connected somehow either in the present or in the past Old hurts pain and revenge takes place on many levels. Everything to lose mystery series The story flows out well it is very wordy and that seemed to slow down the story at times But the many shifts and spins in the tale kept the interest high Everything happens in a very much as a matter of a fact and the intensity level doesn t come up until at the end of the book where I found myself at the edge of my seat The story is told both in third and first person depending on who s point of view we are looking at I m not a fan of the first person type of storytelling but it did seem to work here for the PI Holt This is a book one in a trilogy and it does end in a cliffhanger Interesting story with impeccable timing as it seems that a presidential candidate has moulded the world around him as it best suits himself no matter for other people their lives or even their deaths And those knowing the truth has to be eliminated given the PI Holt a world to be saved Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side Mystery Thriller Suspense ConfusedI enjoyed this book to some extent It had a good storyline however I would have to read it again to really understand all the names that were thrown throughout the story I wished the relationship with Lucas and the sheriff Maddie would have went further The ending was good Janet got good as she gave Mystery Thriller Suspense I found the story a bit slow and often found my concentration going off However as I got further in I could see the slow build up was actually pretty good Once the story took off I was hooked and I didn t see it coming This is a storyline that has a thread running through the next few books So I know I m going to be reading the rest of the series.
