Book the safe bet series what THEN her dad treats her pretty crappy that week and proceeds to throw her out Later in the story her brother calls her out for being childish because she doesn t want to have anything to do the dad Well duh I wouldn t either The whole relationship with the male MC was just a bunch of craziness the entire time him throw blonde bimbos in her face her pushing him away the whole situation with Candace etc it was too much Speaking of too much the entire Ivy storyline was completely unnecessary to the story Sorry but this one just really wasn t for me I received an ARC of this title via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review All opinions are my own The Safe Bet The Game Changers 3 Because the way to true lurve forever is always to parade every skank you ve fucked for the last ten years in front of your supposed one and only I am only surprised he did not give a demonstration What an ass and what a waste of my time The Safe Bet The Game Changers 3 The boy slept around made sure to show the girl he apparently liked loved all his f ck buddies and she was still pining for him. The safe bet kindle series Well if it s love I chose hate The Safe Bet The Game Changers 3 The story was cute Brock has been in love with Reagan for a long time and secretly wants her to fight for him Reagan has abandonment issues brought on by her father and his pursuit of his first love leaving her mom and her to fend for themselves after having shown them family in a really good sense The way he treats her the few times she is around is abysmal but out of that she has now gained a brother who she grows close to The plot although I wouldn t say it was all that original but he had a way of suckering me in The boy gave good woo My past is coming back to haunt me and Casper is not a friendly ghost Oh honey you have to find yourself a nice man You know my grandson is coming to visit next week I can set you up if you d like He s a good looking man but I couldn t tell you anything about his bedroom skills If it s anything like his dancing you re better off looking elsewhere You know what they say about the ones that are too good looking They re anything but a safe bet but you should never kick them out of bed I will love you with all that I am for all of my days My Review This author is wicked She frustrated and fascinated me with Reagan I wanted to throw my precious kindle but I could not stop reading The story squeezed my heart stung my eyes constricted my lungs with anxiety and caused my stomach to churn but I could not stop reading Reagan lives a life of denial and avoidance She does not communicate well and tends to run away when situations get intense or overwhelming She is immature cranky snarky difficult petulant lazy angry hostile pedantic selfish insecure and damaged She expects and assumes the worst I enjoyed the romance for Reagan and Brock Reagan and Brock have been best friends since elementary school and probably in love with each other from that same time even though at that age you wouldn t know it Reagan is broken her dad walked away from her Mom and her when she was 7 which has left deep scares making Reagan afraid of love as well as feeling unworthy of being loved This leads to a lot of bad decisions where she keeps Brock at arm s length even though she loves him Over and over she pushes him away and into the arms of random women Now Brock doesn t handle the situation any better He never tells Reagan how he feels he lets her push him away and then he trots these random blondes in her path I liked the blending of the past with the present as the steps of their journey are revealed as the story progresses you see that the biggest issue is communication neither one every reveals their feelings to the other and misunderstandings happen repeatedly I did get frustrated by this communication issue and wanted to slap the characters to wake them up but that wouldn t fit their story that was just my wish as the reader My challenges with the book were editing issues but I do wonder if the copy I received from Net Galley was a PDF sent to my Kindle I ve experienced issues before with that conversion where lines of text get shifted to the wrong location making it challenging at times to read The Safe Bet The Game Changers 3 3. The safe bet contemporary issues 5 The Safe Bet is a story of second chances both in love and in life Reagan s father broke her heart as a child Brock broke her heart as an adult And she s just not sure if she s ready or able to forgive either one of them Reagan and Brock have been friends since childhood they ve been friends with benefits they ve had their ups and downs and they ve had than their share of missed chances But it s been a decade since they last saw each other after a tragic accident that claimed the life of Reagan s best friend And it was at this time the biggest miscommunication of their lives took place which frustrated me to no end But Brock s back in town and with a little help from Reagan s half brother he s set on claiming Reagan as his once and for all He s not going to let her keep running and hiding. Safe bet builders Brock is not the only man in her life that Reagan has issues with Her father dumped her and her mother when she was just a child and since then they ve had very little to do with each other And good lord who could blame her in the flashbacks we saw of him I d want nothing to with him either But things are changing and dear old dad is spending time with Jordan and his daughter and Jordan wants Reagan to get over the past and let their dad have another chance I enjoyed this book It had a lot of potential but there were just a few things that held me back from really enjoying it I liked Reagan s feistiness I liked her vulnerability But she was also a little hard headed which isn t always a good thing Grown up Brock is definitely swoon worthy and I liked how tenacious he was with wanting to get Reagan back But I had some major issues with him during their college years that are hard to look past These 2 had so much chemistry and they had such a great relationship growing up I really kind of hated seeing what went on during their college years There was such a lack of communication between them and so many missed opportunities I do like the way things were resolved in the end but it was almost too quick for meI would have liked Copy received through NetGalley courtesy of The Book Enthusiast as part of the 30DayReadingIndie Challenge This book does have a few major editing errors that would pop out of nowhere that really interrupted the flow of the story at certain points partial sentences sentences misplaced words missing I don t normally call out things like this but these were so glaring it was hard to look past them Hopefully these issues were fixed in the final product The Safe Bet The Game Changers 3.
