கன்னிகோட்டை இளவரசி [KanniKottai Ilavarasi] By விக்கிரமன் Childrens கன்னிகோட்டை இளவரசி [KanniKottai Ilavarasi] முடியுடைய மூவேந்தர் மூவருள் பாண்டியர்கள் மிகத் தொன்மை வாய்ந்தவர்கள். சங்கம் வளர்த்த காலந்தொட்டுச் சோழ மன்னருக்குக் கருணையினால் சோழ அரசை மீண்டும் திருப்பித் தந்தது வரை பல பாண்டிய மன்னர்கள் மதுரையைத் தலைநகராகக் கொண்டு ஆட்சி புரிந்திருக்கிறார்கள். கொற்கைத் துறைமுகமாகவும், தலைநகரமாகவும் சில காலம் இருந்திருக்கிறது.சோழர்களுக்கும் பாண்டியர்களுக்கும் தொடர்ந்து பிணக்குதான். ஒரே மொழி பேசும் அரச மரபினர் இவ்வாறு சண்டையிடக் கூடாது என்று அக்காலத்தே வாழ்ந்த அறிஞர்கள் சொன்னதாகத் தெரியவில்லை.ஆதி காவியங்களாகிய மகாபாரதம், இராமாயணத்திலும் பாண்டியரைப் பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் காணப்படுகின்றன. இலங்கையின் வரலாற்றைக் கூறும் மகாவம்சம் எனும் நூல் இலங்கையை ஆண்ட தமிழ்வேந்தன் விசயன் பாண்டிய மன்னரின் மகளை மணம் புரிந்து கொண்டதாகக் கூறுகிறது.கி.பி. ஆறாம் நூற்றாண்டில் களப்பிரர்களிடமிருந்து பாண்டிய நாட்டை ககுங்கோன் என்பவன் மீட்டு, மீண்டும் பாண்டிய அரசை நிறுவினான்.ஏறத்தாழ நான்கு நூற்றாண்டுகள் ஆட்சி புரிந்த பிறகு பாண்டியர்கள் சோழர்களிடம் தங்கள் நாட்டை இழந்தனர். இரண்டு நூற்றாண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு மீண்டும் பாண்டியநாடு புத்துயிர் பெற்றது. சடையவர்மன் குலசேகர பாண்டியன், மாறவர்மன் சுந்தர பாண்டியன், சடையவர்மன் சுந்தர பாண்டியன் போன்ற மன்னர்கள் பாண்டிய அரசை வலுப்படுத்திப் புகழ் மணக்க ஆண்டார்கள்.கி.பி. 1268 முதல் 1308 வரையில் சிறந்த முறையில் ஆட்சிபுரிந்த மாறவர்மன் குலசேகரன் காலமானபோது மதுரைக் கருவூலத்தில் ஏராளமான பொன்னும் பொருளும் நிறைந்திருந்தன. அவருக்குச் சுந்தரபாண்டியன், வீரபாண்டியன் என்னும் இரு புதல்வர்கள் இருந்தார்கள். சுந்தர பாண்டியன் மணஞ்செய்து கொண்ட பட்டத்தரசியின் மகன், வீரபாண்டியன், ஆசைநாயகிக்குப் பிறந்தவன்.வீரபாண்டியன் மீது அரசருக்கு அபிமானம் மிகுதி. வீரபாண்டியனுக்கே அடுத்த ஆட்சி உரிமையை அளிக்க முடிவு செய்து இருந்தார். அரசரின் முடிவு சுந்தரப் பாண்டியனுக்குக் கடுஞ்சினத்தை அளித்தது. தந்தையைக் கொன்று விட்டான். அதுமுதல் சுந்தர பாண்டியனுக்கும் வீரபாண்டியனுக்கும் விரோதம் மிகுந்தது. கட்சி சேர்த்துக் கொண்டு உள்நாட்டிலேயே இருவரும் போர் புரியலாயினர். நாட்டில் குழப்பம் ஏற்பட்டது. வீர பாண்டியன் உறையூருக்கு அருகே ஒரு கோட்டையை அமைத்து அங்கிருந்து பாண்டிய நாட்டின் சில பகுதிகளில் வரிவசூல் செய்யலானான்.அதுசமயம் வடக்கேயிருந்த மாலிக்காபூர் தென்னகத்தில் மதுரையில் ஏராளமான செல்வம் இருப்பதை அறிந்தான். சுந்தர பாண்டியன் மாலிக்காபூருக்குத் தூதரை அனுப்பித் தனக்கு உதவி செய்யுமாறு கேட்டுக் கொண்டான். வீரபாண்டியனும் மாலிக்காபூர் உதவியை நாடினான்.குழப்பம் மிகுந்த பாண்டிய நாட்டை மிக எளிதில் வெல்லலாம் என்றறிந்த மாலிக்காபூர் பாண்டிய நாட்டின் மீது படை எடுத்தான். சுந்தரபாண்டியனின் தாய் மாமன் விக்கிரம பாண்டியன்; சரிந்து வரும் பாண்டிய நாட்டை அந்நியரிடமிருந்து காப்பாற்ற முனைந்தான். இவை எல்லாம் வரலாற்று நிகழ்ச்சிகள்.என் கற்பனையுடன் வரலாற்று உண்மையையும் சேர்ந்தது, விக்கிரம பாண்டியனுக்குச் சித்ராதேவி என்னும் அழகிய பெண்ணைப் படைத்தேன். அவளைச் சுந்தர பாண்டியன், வீரபாண்டியன் இருவரும் விரும்பினர். அவ்விருவரையும் அவள் விரும்பவில்லை. ஹொய்சள நாட்டிலிருந்து வந்த வீர வல்லாளன் மாலிக்காபூர் படையெடுப்பைத் தற்காலிகமாக நிறுத்தும் வரலாற்றுச் சம்பவங்களோடு பிணைந்து, கன்னிக் கோட்டை இளவரசி என்னும் வரலாற்று நாவலைப் புனைந்தேன்.மிக விரிவாக எழுதப்பட வேண்டிய அளவிற்குச் சம்பவங்களும், திருப்பங்களும் உண்டு. எனினும் குறிப்பிட்ட ஓர் இலட்சியத்தை மட்டும் கருவாகக் கொண்டு இந்த நாவலை எழுதினேன்.பெண்மையின் கற்புத் திண்மை, வீரம் இவை இந்தப் புதினத்தின் இலட்சியங்கள். விக்கிரமன்
