Informative and easy to read book gives the reader both the inspiration and information to make ambitious goals a reality Features an exciting introduction by MANNNtv star Adam Buongiovanni Professionally edited by A Lynn Powers Achieve Your Dreams Why You Don t and How You CanI ve read plenty of books on achieving your dreams and out of all of them this one is the most unique The book is short and to the point The author is very blunt in his explanation of why people give up on their dreams and how they can work towards achieving their goals You can sense that this subject is important to him and his goal is to help others see their potential I like the author s commandments for achieving your dreams and how he uses examples of famous celebrities who reached their dreams despite the odds Hughes doesn t hold anything back in this book and after reading it.

Very inspiring A short book but I found it very inspiring encouraging A look at why most people don t achieve their dreams what you can learn from them Scott Hughes Positives Author is confidentGood ideasNo proofreading errorsBook is very shortNegatives Too focused on negative ideasToo much repetitionBook quotes itself in area for famous quotesRepetitive use of cliches and worn out anecdotesI had a hard time connecting with this book because it was so negative and so repetitive While the ideas were there the presentation was lacking and I did not feel like I came away with anything new Scott Hughes MotivatingBook basically is a short encouragement to pursue your dream It s not step by step instructions It s a bit repeative It is meant to motivate not instruction Scott Hughes Loved it Loved it for the fact it s so encouraging Loved it for the fact ANYONE can read it because it takes an hour or so Loved it for the fact I wrote the intro Scott Hughes This is one of those books though at 32 pages I hesitate to call it a book that would have better served its audience as a blog post or a listicle The first half could easily have been condensed to a few introductory paragraphs followed by Mr Hughes cheerleadery but less than helpful commandments If it had been one of those I could have been through it in 10 minutes rather than spend half an hour reading the same things over and over Over the years I ve read A LOT of books about achieving dreams bettering your life and just general self help This particular volume was repetitive and circular in the extreme and had nothing unique or truly insightful to offer I found the tone of Mr Hughes writing to be rather grating alternating between lofty The fitness inducing selective mechanics of competitiveness that apply to genetic evolution and patronizing His occasional attempts at humor You might think But Scott why would such a handsome bestselling author like you want to be friends with me You can t possibly be friends with all of the thousands of people who have read one of your books fell eye rollingly flat The commandments section where one would finally expect to see some practical advice was just vague lines like Don t Be Depressing and Take It One Step at a Time Mr Hughes teased at but didn t actually follow through on his blurb s promise to give the reader both the inspiration and information to make ambitious goals a reality And it wasn t just the tone that bothered me either I m not sure what kind of support system Mr Hughes has had or likely didn t have but after reading this book he has my sympathy For me his message was almost completely unrelatable The assertion that parents teachers and counselors crush children s dreams by pressuring them to take the safe path is completely alien to my own experiences I was taught that practicality and moderation do not have to equal giving up your hopes dreams or ambitions Even as an individual with a disability that to be blunt puts realistic limitations on what I can do no one in my life ever encouraged me not to chase my dreams It s thinking like this that makes me wonder who in Mr Hughes life did such damage to his spirit And then there were lines like They need not the reliability of your day job that were flat out disturbing If parents are to be examples to their children how can they do that without attending to the practical aspects of feeding clothing housing and generally providing for them This book just seems to preach an extreme that is completely unrealistic and irresponsible I stumbled across a couple of typos of the missing and extra word variety an I was missing in an early sentence and then there s to the get to that tippity top which in something this short is flat out unacceptable These are quick fixes if Mr Hughes chooses to attend to them though honestly the editor A Lynn Powers should have caught them Bottom line Nothing new to see here and nothing concrete to put into practice especially not at 2: Achieving the dream program 99 for 32 pages However if you re looking for a short cotton candy fluff pick me up this wouldn t hurt Scott Hughes.
