Horror The hittites history But there was one thing I found irksome The book does not come to a reasonable conclusion nothing is resolved even temporarily the end of the volume I read the Kindle version is like a chapter end with action clearly needing to continue with each context I m used to series where each book can or less stand on its own you want to continue to the next but things wrap up in some kind of way to make a logical stopping point I didn t feel like that was the case here you clearly have to go on to the next one. Horror The hittites history But overall the book is quite strong despite those complaints much stronger than I expected actually and I am looking forward to continuing on to the next one Clarkson writes well the narrative is compelling and the characters relatable and I like the premise One of the best novels about archaeology that I ve seen English DecentEnjoyedSometimes felt rushed things would happen and not track Bullet fired inside no damage is not my experience hi English Unfortunately I think the two star rating of it was ok is the best way to describe it It took place over a few different periods of time some modern and one ancient Every chapter was a different thread in the plotlines happening However it actually made the whole story very disjointed since every couple of pages you would be jumping to a different plot point Since at the time of this writing I m the first reviewer I ll start with the positive The whole history part seemed to be pretty accurate The story made me curious about the Bronze Age collapse and upon googling some info it all looked pretty familiar Clearly a lot of research went into the story and it shows There was also a lot of explanation about both the science and history that honestly made the zombie plot point pretty believable It all seemed to connect seamlessly You also start to learn the connection between some characters I will admit I did have a moment during one of those It was on Kindle Unlimited and peaked my interest and for the most part held my interest. Horror The hittites history Unfortunately on to the negative It did not hold my interest enough to want to read book 2 The end of this one came in the middle of things happening but not as a cliffhanger I was completely taken by surprise at the end of the book it seemed like an unfinished sentence Overall I found the scenes that took place in history with Ani and Purdu to be the most tedious to get through Maybe they were written in laymen s terms but the use of very modern terms made those parts seem anachronistic and therefore jarring The story overall was fairly rushed I think I was supposed to feel tension during some of the modern day scenes but I didn t at any point Overall I think the author is on to some good ideas and history nerds will probably like this But not enough character development plot hooks to make me want to continue with the series YMMV English

, The Hittites book It also could have benefitted from a good copyeditor There were a fair number of typos and a few instances of the wrong word being used
