His Mistress for a Week By Melanie Milburne
And his step sister go missing Alistair forces Clementine to help him find her with the threat that he would call the police on her brother and have him arrested for taking his minor step sister out of the country Seems like old habits are hard to break and they find their way back to each other English I really felt for Clem Having a father in jail and a mother who was incredibly useless Bringing up her younger brother and continually being used for money by her waste of a space of a mother She had a lot to deal with As well as having very low self esteem about her weight She continually but others first and forgot about her own needs Then we have the hero Alistair His mother was terminally ill with cancer And his father couldn t deal with it So he met Clem s mother and moved her into his house While the mother was dying in hospital. While away things get steamy between them and quickly passion becomes love Can they find ever lasting happiness despite the issues holding them back Another fantastic book by Melanie Milburne I received this book in exchange for a honest review English Melanie has very well captured the goings on of people who are prone to get anxious very easily. Many poignant moments in the story that made me go awwwBut there is one thing I take an exception to I ve come to know that Harlequin names the books and not the authors What I had an issue with is the title of the book In my opinion it is degrading Clem in the story to be referred to as a kept woman when she is not one Apart from that.
She works hard with books old books collecting them and is always looking out for them But when a blast from her past walks into the shop she is stunned and reminded of her teenage years Alistair Hawthorne was back in her life and when he insists that she accompany him to Morocco looking for his step sister who has run off with Jamie where will this lead Alistair is furious when his step sister runs off with none other than Jamie Scott he has not seen Clem of Jamie for ten years when is father has a fling with their mother but he needs to get is step sister back and there is only one person who can help and there is a spark when they meet again Clem has grown into a beautiful woman who appears to be strong but with a vulnerability to her how long will he be able to deny this pull Yes pick this one up sit back and enjoy you will not want to be disturbed while jetting across Morocco and getting to know Alistair and Clem and see them enjoy a very sensual journey that opens up a lot of wounds from the past but in turn helps them fall very much in love I do highly recommend this one it really does tick all the boxes that a beautiful romance requires I loved it English A modern based romance than this book cover suggests I liked Clem who is the main female character Although not very believable it was nice from an escapism point of view English Yet another story with a complicated angsty backstory overshadowing the real time events of the romance This is the timeline of the romance without the backstory H blackmails heroine into accompanying him on trip to Monte Carlo to hunt down an errant teenager in his care and her brother who presumably put her up to it If heroine doesn t go with him.
Then he ll call the police on the brother for stealing his car and some money. They go to Monte Carlo and share a suite since the heroine doesn t have much money Sexual tension ensues They find the two teenagers who are working and are planning on paying back the money The girl left because her mother s boyfriend was threatening to rape her The heroine talks the girl into going to boarding school after her summer of working in France is over. H h have sex after heroine decides she wants a fling Hero decides she is the one after three days and gives her a ring Heroine s mother sells their story to the tabloids Heroine decides to leave the hero for his own good Hero lets her go and then two days later goes to England to fight for her Also he s bought her a villa in France HEA. That s it that s the fluffy story superimposed on a backstory of the hero s skeevy father having an affair with the heroine s trailer trash mother when the heroine was 16 The hero s mother was in the hospital with terminal cancer when the heroine s family moved into his house So yeah the H h had some bad blood between them Add in the hero identifying with his all forgiving many times betrayed mother.
Body issues with her weight and overall appearance The heroine is a hot mess and I don t see how she can suddenly relax in her OCD and feel beautiful because of three days with the hero. The hero fell in love with the heroine because the author told him to He was a great guy but some of his generosity made no sense Why the hero would feel he had to pay for one of his father s ex mistresses daughters to go to boarding school to get away from her mother s rapey new boyfriend is beyond me Now I have a headache English His Mistress for a Week by Melanie MilburneI feel that Melanie Milburne is one of my favorite authors This story between Clementine Scott and Alistair Hawthrone was so intriguing Clem s brother.
However in his arms she came alive When Clem had encountered Alistair ten years ago it was not that way Alistair and Clem did not have great role models to grow up with Clem s mother cared about herself and being with a man even if that man treated her children badly She was always calling Clem for money for this or that Alistair s dad had an affair while his mother was dying Alistair felt the loses a brother and his dad had taken down all the pictures of the little 2 year brother and that hurt him Jamie and Harriet were good for each other and had found jobs and were becoming happier and stable young people Harriet was now okay with going on the boarding school Jamie had decided to try to work his way into hospitality and make that a career choice English

Alistair hunts down Clem at the bookshop she works at it s a sweet story English There aren t enough adjectives in the English dictionary to describe Melanie Milburne s latest offering to Harlequin Presents His Mistress for a Week swept me away from page one The angst The drama The intense scenes The provocative writing It took my breath away I savored every sentence I growled expletives at Alistair such a brute at first I cheered Clem on when her razor sharp tongue and inward dialogue sliced Alistair to shreds the dialogue between H h held such weight It provoked and it tantalized It s been ten years since Alistair and Clem laid eyes upon each other Then one day Alistair waltzes back in town and uproots Clem from her quiet non eventful life It s a storm between her and Alistair who would not take no for an answer But they re but determined to have their own way but Alistair is convincing enough to persuade Clem in the most ruthless way Want to know what happens next Just imagine having these two hot headed and temperamental rivals together Explosion I thoroughly enjoyed this delicious story and highly recommend it to all fans of romance You won t be disappointed. Highly Highly Recommended5 Stars English WOW MS Milburne knows how to write a story that gives the reader an emotional journey to a HEA one that will keep you smiling as you turn the pages I love the feelings that she brings out in me as the reader while I get to know the characters. Clementine Scott Clem as she likes to called has lead a pretty rough life growing up with her beautiful mother who flits from one man to another Clem s father is not around and she has a half brother Jamie that she cares very much for She has body image problems stemming from a terrible time at the age of sixteen although she is beautiful now she is still not convinced the heroine with OCD and freaking out over a coffee cup and how things are arranged in her suitcase and the heroine s first sexual encounter occurring because of a bet between school mates and you have the weirdest mismatch of tone and plot devices Anyone of these things the heroine s sexual past her OCD her father in prison and her mother still flitting from man to man would be enough to challenge a relationship But the author has to add in very low self esteem Jamie disappeared to Monte Carlo with Alistair s step sister Harriet Harriet seems to be a good influence on him They had taken off with Alistair s car though Alistair decided that Clem needed to come with him since she would know how to handle Jamie Forced then to spend a week together they finally realized they had a craving for each other Alistair was experienced then Clem often competed in local gymkhanas and even broke in a few horses from time to time As I was surrounded by animals I decided at an early age to become a nurse however I couldn t stand the sight of blood and so opted for a career in teaching It s a bit ironic that I married a surgeon. I read my first Mills Boon novel when I was 17 and that encouraged me to continue reading romance novels the lure of the tall dark handsome hero who in reality I fell in love with and knew I was going to marry on our second date After marrying a year later we moved to Scotland with our six week old baby so my husband could work and study for his MD in surgery After the birt I grew up on a small farm on the outskirts of Sydney and as a keen horse rider often competed in local gymkhanas and even broke in a few horses from time to time As I was surrounded by animals I decided at an early age to become a nurse however I couldn t stand the sight of blood and so opted for a career in teaching It s a bit ironic that I married a surgeon. I read my first Mills Boon novel when I was 17 and that encouraged me to continue reading romance novels the lure of the tall dark handsome hero who in reality I fell in love with and knew I was going to marry on our second date After marrying a year later we moved to Scotland with our six week old baby so my husband could work and study for his MD in surgery After the birth of our second son we came back to Australia to settle in Tasmania I went back to University and up graded my teaching diploma to a degree and then went on to do a Masters but still I felt as if something was missing I sat down one day and began writing and everything clicked into place I had finally found my brilliant career I used to write from instinct rather than a specific plan but now so many books later I find a loose plan doesn t go astray An idea will pop into my head sometimes it will be just a simple phrase or a what if question and I m away Writing is a skill that can be learned and the best way to learn it is to read and to write So many people feel they have a novel in them and very probably they are right the only trick is to get it out My advice to would be writers is to write write and write even Carry a notebook at all times and jot down ideas And like any other activity the you do the it feels comfortable I hope you enjoy my stories and look forward to hearing from you site_link What happens in Monte Carlo Ten years ago bookshop assistant Clementine Scott clashed spectacularly with architect Alistair Hawthorne After the humiliation of that night she swore she d never have anything to do with any man ever again especially the arrogant Alistair But when Clem s brother disappears with Alistair s stepsister she isn t given a choice she will be going with Alistair to Monte Carlo to retrieve them Forced together for one week they quickly realize that their enmity masks simmering sizzling lust They strike a deal for one week only all bets and clothes are off His Mistress for a Week.
