A little night magics song A GHOSTLY GIFT Verity Long is new to the ghost business She has much to learn about the business and her new ability of sensing and communicating with the dead Verity however has no intention of continuing in the unique line of work she fell into and intends to keep it secret from the residents of her hometown to keep from being further ridiculed She prefers to hunt for a normal job with a steady paycheck Verity accepts one ghost job when her sister pleads for help for a friend with a ghostly problem before it ruins her business She and her sullen ghost sidekick stay the night inside the shop and discover who is responsible for the destructive disturbances Verity decides to aid the deceased solider in the search for his long lost love and return her ring before it is too late. A little night magicman Verity s character has not changed overly much from the first book I still love her quirkiness and sass She never fails to make me laugh and grin like a loon I enjoy the sisterly bond Verity shares with her younger sister Melody The author shows just how tight the two sisters are and how much both women care for the other by their actions and decisions And Verity shows how large her heart is She may not have plans to pursue the ghost medium hunting business but she does not refuse to help when it s needed The lengths Verity is willing to go in order to complete such an altruistic task is heartrending I did not believe it was possible to like her character thanks to a persistent rowdy ghostly houseguest She is approached by Major Matthew Jackson a new ghost friend from the library to fetch an important item from his family home Verity grudgingly agrees To gain entry into the Jackson estate she volunteers to help her best friend Lauralee cater the well to do family s annual Christmas party While waitressing Verity searches for the spirit of Matthew s departed mother and devises a way to reunite mother and son. A little night magic fantasy book series I love the warm feelings this short story invokes Verity continues to amaze me with her altruism and thoughtfulness towards the departed She may not want the attention and recognition of a Ghost Whisperer however I feel the title and occupation suits her kind nature I also like how Verity finds acceptance with ghosts when the living proves to be judgmental and harsh Again my only nitpick with these SOUTHERN GHOST HUNTER MYSTERIES novellas are the uber sexy Ellis s absences. A little night magicquil I BRAKE FOR BIKER WITCHES is a fun and entertaining story The story is on the short side however it did not disappoint me The biker witches and Lizzie s talking dog continue to amuse me with their crazy commentary and wacky behavior and antics DATE WITH A DEMON SLAYER Lizzie Brown Kallinikos demon slayer extraordinaire and her were griffon husband want to spend their first wedding anniversary free from anything supernatural Dimitri finds an antebellum plantation house turned restaurant and Lizzie agrees the place is perfect for a night alone with her husband The couple learn while dining about the house s history and the unexplained incidents that have plagued the place Lizzie and Dimitri find themselves sucked into another dimension and stalked by the malevolent poltergeist of the plantation s first owner Help comes to the couple s rescue in an unexpected guise Lizzie beseeches the biker witches help in dealing with the malicious spirit so he can no longer do any harm again. What are night witches Lizzie and Dimitri continue to prove what a formidable pair they are The couple however cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to the supernatural Something always happens whenever the two want a brief reprieve from the dangerous world they belong to The two face a paranormal aspect that they do not have the ability or skill set to combat yet this does not stop them from risking their own lives to protect each other hence why Lizzie and Dimitri are my favorite couple in romance books I really like how neither are the hero but the one who saves the day is Pirate much to her surprise the party is held at a retirement home During the bash she senses the ominous presence of black magic subtly hidden beneath the positive magic of the biker witches Lizzie grows worried when her grandmother falls sick and she searches desperately for the cause of the strange malady. Magical night meaning Finally three stories starring Lizzie and the Biker Witches characters I met in The Accidental Demon Slayer Biker Witches who are also senior citizens are hilarious and frustrating at least for Lizzie. A little night magicus cast Angie Fox has a talent for presenting us with leading ladies who don t appear to have to be macho than the men they are around I like this approach they are women not weepy girls or out to prove their superiority They laugh joke and have sexual thoughts at inopportune times kind of like men do okay like I do I guess what I am getting at here is that we get fun stories without a heavy dose of social commentary and I like that I like my reading to be fun and so far the two books I have read by this author have been that great fun. I enjoyed the first three stories My favorite was the one where she called up a man from the grave I found myself laughing at her predicament I was not fond of the biker witches Maybe because I haven te read their stories before But I hadn t read about the guy from the grave either and I enjoyed his story Mystery Romance Fantasy A Little Night MusicThis is a combination of several of the series starters by Angle Fox I of course love Southern Spirits and the story about the voodoo store owner and her one true love who happened to be a zombie come back to life The Demon Slayer and Biker Witches weren t as appealing to me but I m sure they are excellent series also just not what I m into right now Its great to have this book so you can get a feel for which series you d like to read first Mystery Romance Fantasy I wanted to love this book Sadly I did not I picked it solely based on the cover and thought it was going to be so fun I did enjoy the two ghost hunter stories and the voodoo mamba story as well but I did not at all like the demon slayer witch stories Those two stories are what took me down to 2 stars I ll definitely try out some of this author s stuff though probably the ones about Verity Mystery Romance Fantasy I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review This short story anthology contained a mix of stories from the Demon Slayer world and the Southern Ghost one I don t think you really need to have read the series before but it would help you get maximum enjoyment out of them. A little night magicmash Verity is still scraping along but happily occupying her own home She may have upgraded from ramen dinners to her sister s takeout leftovers but she is still lacking in the regular job department While playing chess with her ghost BFF as one does her sister gives her a lead on a possible job offer No it doesn t involve using her graphic design skills Instead it uses her supposedly secret ghost management skills She and Frankie take off for a second hand store that is being broken in to by ghosts This has a bit of a love story edge to it when Verity begins to solve this mystery There are misunderstandings lovers torn apart and oodles of ghosts I m loving this world and with each new story installment Ghost of a Chance This was another short story set in the world of Verity Long secret ghost whisperer extraordinaire The ghost we met in a previous tale comes back to ask a favor of Verity who is very short on both time and money to help Luckily this one overlaps with a paying gig at a party and allows her to give a little bit of a gift to a pair of ghosts that are made for one another. Mystery a little night magic cast When she shows up to a party expecting a simple discussion you know things are going to go wrong Nothing is ever simple for Verity While there was a distinct lack of her maybe sorta boyfriend the story made up for it in familiar ghost faces This was a cute redemption and reconciliation tale to read around the holidays Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo This really wasn t that short a story to me It had all the makings of a heart wrenching book that gave the reader a good rollercoaster ride through the life of Amie Baptiste. A little night magic book pdf Amie is the owner of a voodoo shop that specialized in love It only makes sense that she is the one most desperately in need of it herself After a lot of bickering she finally listens to her mythical pet and works some magic on herself Somewhere along the line she ends up wishing for a specific dream man and not just some hypothetical one Much to her surprise he shows up naked and sort of a zombie Dante is Amie s dream man but she is terrified to admit it He worked some magic after his death to make sure that he could be called back to life by his one true love It seems pretty clear to him but it is an uphill battle to convince Amie that they were meant to be She s got to take a leap and believe that he will catch her These two have to really work at their HEA but it is completely satisfying in the end I Brake for Biker Witches This was a super quick trip down memory lane Lizzie is on the road between jobs when she and the biker witches run into a ghost from their past They are literal ghosts because that s the kind of life Lizzie leads Even after death though life isn t easy for members of Lizzie s gang She s got to step in to defend the afterlife of said ghosts in a battle showdown unlike any other.
