Approximately the first half of this book is an excellent overview of British history the second half covers the reign of Queen Elizabeth up to 2015 and is also very well done I highly recommend this book Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family I received this book as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend two years ago Instead of simply flipping through and looking at the pictures which was wonderful enough I wanted to actually read the book and enjoy getting a sense of timelines and royal family connections I think this is a fantastic introduction and has some stunning photos I did learn some things along the way.
