I have mixed feelings with this book First of all I always appreciate a feminist study specially a feminist study of evolution and social organization In the beggining Scott opens her analysis emphasizing her study of female bonobos behaviour and their impact in the matriarchal social organization of bonobo society in general I feel very enthusiastic I was looking for a feminist primatological analysis and in part the book is that but then cames the ugly First of all she uses the analysis on the differences of female and male brains to give place to her beliefs about aliens and conspirative theories about them second she gives extreme temporal jumps connecting behaviors of prehistory with contemporary behavior ignoring the gigantic time gap and third a lot of her information is presented without citation so her theoretical sustenance remains in the air.
