Lego star wars book Prior to his career in comic books Ostrander studied theology with the intent of becoming a Catholic priest but now describes himself as an agnostic His in depth explorations of morality were later used in his work writing The Spectre a DC Comics series about the manifestation of the wrath of God His focus on the character s human aspect a dead police detective from the 1930s named Jim Corrigan and his exploration of moral and theological themes brought new life to a character often thought of as impossible to write He has also worked on Firestorm Justice League Martian Manhunter Manhunter Suicide Squad and Wasteland for DC site_link Beautiful Twi lek Jedi Aayla Secura goes undercover to ferret out a Separatist enclave But when her cover is blown Aayla finds herself going up against famed bounty hunter and infamous Jedi killer Aurra Sing Star Wars JediAayla Securastory 6 10 English So this is a one shot 40 ish page comic that takes place in a larger series or so I m told Star Wars Jedi Aayla Secura is a now non canon comic book that exists for people who think Aayla Secura is hot That s it It s got a throwaway story and other than the fan favorite C list characters Quinlan Vos Aurra Sing and Kit Fisto who just like Aayla look cool but offer you almost nothing character wise No significant contributions to the overall universe and mythos Unless you count Aurra Sing s now non canon backstory about being a Padawan giving up and then getting an antenna installed in her skull that allows her to sense other people s emotions since she s not very good at using the force to read people s emotions There s a character named Dark Woman though which seemed very stupid She has cool shoulder pads though until they explained why she s called that and then another character had an aside about it that was a bit of a lampshade hanging moment and I was willing to accept it That s about it though not many other things to note. Star wars revenge of the sith Which like I don t know this comic wasn t the worst thing in the world It s kind of funny it s essentially fan service or at least it feels that way but it s not so gratuitous that it turned me off There isn t anything offensive about this not like some of the comics I ve DNF d after a hundred pages or so There have been a lot of those lol Like I said this is a comic for people who want to see a hot alien lady use a lightsaber English Even than the Shaak Ti issue this is just part of the main Republic storyline packaged into a one off form Plucking it out to read on its own doesn t make a ton of sense but I know all these characters well enough to keep up Tholme the Dark Woman lol Aayla Kit Aurra Sing and some flashbacks with Quin But unlike the Shaak Ti story everything here works well together all contributing to Aayla s internal development Seeing that Quin has fallen to the Dark Side and joined the Separatists she feels disoriented He was such a big part of her identity as a Jedi that losing him feels like losing herself We see them bonding him teaching her what it means to be a Jedi how to balance her heritage and the expectations it brings with the realities of her role now Then the story puts her into a position that pushes on that sore spot making her play the role of the ditzy Twi lek airhead Ostrander extends the Twi lek female thing from slave dancing girls to misogynistic tropes in general and I guess that makes sense forcing her to reflect on what she learned from Quin and lean on her friends for support Then it tosses in Aurra Sing as an explicit evil foil for her someone who went through analogous if not similar experiences but came out in a very different place It s nothing revelatory perhaps but it s competent and coherent in a way these stories don t always manage to be English This is a story that sheds new light on the beautiful fascinating and mysterious Jedi Master Aayla Secura She deserves her own film I knew her in once a long time ago in one of my past lives in The Omni verse Now of course reincarnation is not real but there are universes where it is real To truly not comprehend what I m talking about you have to be vaguely familiar with the fly by night philosophy of metaphysics Would you like to discuss the fly by night philosophy of metaphysics Then please comment below Please talk about blue are real Jedi women with me English Very excited to have heard about this A very dear friend recommended it and I loved it Aayla is one of my favorites English

Fun Read Fun quick read A good rec for Star Wars fans The art and storyline is also great too Def recommend English Solid oneshot I knew nothing about Aayla Secura before going into this and now I know quite a lot which is good This comic met all of the expectations I had for it in general and also in terms of Aayla s character but didn t really exceed them hence the three stars I enjoyed finding out about Aurra Sing who I only knew from Clone Wars the parallels between her life and Aayla s were really interesting Having also met Quinlan Vos at the very beginning and in flashbacks to Aayla s training I m now even interested to read Dark Disciple up until now Ventress has been the main source of my interest in that and find out about him English .
